or should I say ... geth pooper.

is he not really really really boring?

I see pugs actually choosing this lame character over 64 far more interesting characters!

I have yet to see anyone play this character with an actual interesting play style. why not? whats your build?

This is my build, Lancer for everything (shields preferably) except when it needs to recharge, then I start flaming stuff, disruptor rounds to keep mooks busy and to deal some good damage vs shields.

But as you said, it's a pretty boring character, so I play only a couple of games maximum then switch.

I tried the melee build but it's impractical, the GI is much much better at it.

He's pretty boring, though I wouldn't say that 64 other characters are more interesting than him.

Every once in a while, cheese is good. I rarely use this character, but when I do, I go as cheesy as possible and have no regrets. (actually I barely use the flamer in pugs). See sig for how I use him in a solo

Geth heavy melee is the best melee in the game, you don't need bat gauntlet.

Keep toggling fortification to get the melee boost. Equip venom with omni blade and wreck enemies.

which ones are more boring? all other characters can at least detonate ammo, this guy can only abuse an unintentional side effect of fire dot.

but his melee gets minimal DR, leaving you as a sitting duck with slowly self-depleting shields on a character with poor health levels. it could work on a GE cos the turret can restore your shields, but the GT?

This. He's very boring any way I spec him, but I enjoy the occasional solo with maximum cheese.

Have to admit - that's one of my least used kits; for flamer builds I prefer either Vorcha as they can both detonate the burny (and make silly noises) whilst for a weapons platform build I'd much rather play the Volus Mercenary.

@ROBOTIC SUPERMAN: Enemies don't last long enough to shoot you back :P Geth melee is that good!

Since there is no target cap on geth heavy melee, you can get kill streaks with it. And it staggers every single enemy incl. phantoms, hunters and the other major annoyances.

The ultimate PUG carrier ... you can be in a Gold lobby with 3 sub-wood level players and still have no problems

He has the best shield recharge rate in the game.  This allows you to do a lot of strategic melee pulsing.  Two pulses, jump behind soft cover, just back, two more pulses.  Venom shots in between.  Here's the max case, though you'll question whether you want to lose the martial artist bonus in favor halving your shield delay.

This.

I keep the flamerless trooper ready for when the PUGs are all low level N7 with uninspiring stuff on. He is survivable and carries heavy weapons.  But he is not best for all occasions (is anything?), and works best with more bigger maps with more places to shelter. Example I failed one low-skill team when we got gold collectors on glacier/hazard, and the team all died early on wave 6 objectives. The map is just too small to get away from all the crabs, scions and possessed vermin, and the one dimensional guns-only was just not up to the task. (at least that's what I tell myself.) Clock ran out.

Sometimes I just want boring and racking up credits. (The manifest needs work.)

I run it Flamerless with a Typhoon, usually with Ext Mag, Ext Barrel, and AP rounds. Everything with armor melts. Everything without armor... also melts. HM wallhax lets you spin up the Typhoon behind cover and immediately have a head picked out to target when you step out to abuse RHA.

Heavy melee is useful to stun anything that gets too close. I also generally slap a Scorpion on for Phantoms/Goons in CQC - way less of a chore than tracking those flippy bitches with the bullet hose.

I absolutely agree that a Flamer build is boring, but the Flamerless GT is among my favorite bad-pug-carrying builds in the game.
