I don't know. I often fight because I am forced to and typically prefer to solve things without fighting (either with cunning/diplomacy or subterfuge).
I am asking that when we fight anywhere, including in the arenas, we should get the exp we deserve. Besides, aren't arenas places designed to be a challenge? Whats a challenge without getting experience out of it, as well as a fitting reward.

wood elves and dalish elves are pretty much the same, except wood elves are goofier. The reason no villain in the entire elder scrolls franchise was ever a wood elf lol

I'm actually not a fan of XP for fighting. I fight in a lot of other games that don't reward XP, and it doesn't really stop me from fighting unless the fighting itself isn't fun. I'm a much bigger fan of XP for completing objectives (by which an arena objective could be the completion of arena fights). I personally think that RPGs are more combat heavy than they need to be, but that's speaking on what I consider the ideal RPG for myself.
As for "what's a challenge without getting experience out of it," my answer would be "that depends." Rewards aren't always more player character power. A lot of the times it's unlocking content, and things like that.
