I know Dwarves cannot use magic(unless your name is sandal), so when they're using lyrium HOW do they get it to produce the desired effect?
For example enchanting a weapon with flame, or making Golems?
Any lore experts could help shed some light on this topic?

I know they pour molten lyrium in the eye/mouth holes and then the joints, but I'm not sure what else is done

I'm hoping the process on enchanting will be explained a little more in detail. I put it down to Runic magic, runes shapes and designs will produce a certain effect.

I can't wait to use a flaming sword in my warrior playthrough.

I believe the inlaid symbol is part of what determines what a rune does, which I believe trace back to a bit of ancient elf and ancient tevintar script/symbols for the magic it imbues.

In DAA you needed a crafting recipe/rune tracing, blank runes, and an etching agent. (omitting lesser runes since it seems more for balancing purposes)

Yeah, the magic itself comes from the lyrium.  The affect of the magic is determined by the design of the rune.  That is the basic explanation we currently have anyway.
