With that yee-yee ass haircut.
My criticisms are all gameplay and story. Valid complaints, I'm not the only one. Maybe I shouldn't claim sausage fest, but goddamn give us a female protagonist after your 4th game already. Just one.

Outlast is pretty overrated.
And as for GTA, I've never had an issue with its content myself. GTA V really overdid the misogyny though, and of course a bunch of teenage Call of Duty players or frat boys defended it saying "GTA'S ALWAYS HATED WOMEN ITS FUNNY BRO".
None of the previous titles have had the same extreme misogyny themes in them, and misogynists are shown in a really negative light in the other titles. And the worst part is how fans react to accusations of misogyny. Or people stating they dislike the game's violent themes. This page pretty much stands testament to how immature some people act when their game gets insulted, or even mentionably disliked.

Female protagonist? In a popular murder simulator like GTA? Pfft

I've never masturbated so hard in my life.
But yeah, everyone should lay off the hostility over the violence issue.

Just because someone enjoys it in a game doesn't mean anything
That's the kind of mindset the News tries to blame video games for
You serious? So are people who play games like this messed up in the head or something? Is this not just entertainment for entertainment sake? Are people that read violent books and watch movies deranged in some way now?
I simply stated that I do not understand why one would like senseless murder and theft in a video game. I also would prefer to not understand their mindset, because I frankly. Don't. Care. Why.
So this is the part where I leave the thread because
a) People do seem to enjoy misreading posts
b )clearly people love to overreact about internet forum posts (teh intrnet iz srs bsns)
c) if anyone is getting a warning point, it ain't gonna be me ![]()

Too late. Accusing somebody of eating Cheerios is the ultimate offense, worthy of a perma ban. Reported. Reported twice.

Basically what I have learned from this thread is that having an unbiased opinion is apparently hard and we should all cut game reviewers some slack then.
As for the word "overrated" itself, I don't think it applies well to videogames since every game has many flaws. Now Derek Jeter's defence is overrated, that dude has the mobility of a fence post.

Saints Row: The Third was alright for a bit but a bit too big of a shift in tone for me to love it like I did the first two. More so the second one. Still better than GTA IV though. I just wished they kept the crazy around 11 instead of cranking it over 9000. Apparently that hasn't changed with SR IV but I'm hoping I won't mind as much when I get it.

Witcher series. I don't get the hype. The control doesn't feel right to me, the storyline is just not very memorable. It has a rapid fanbase that will bite anyone who says something slightly bad about it, so I guess it's just one of those polarized games, I supposed.

I cannot fathom the love some have for the GTA series.
Me either, although I only played GTA IV. I liked Saints Row the Third much more.
I mean, come on, buff hood surfing? You can't beat that. Plus, I got to create my own character, instead of being stuck with theirs. And her VA was Laura Bailey. I don't see where you could go wrong with SR3.
Reminds me of the Hey Ash episode...
Edit: Oops, I meant this one.

No, it really is not.
It's not? I mean I know it's David and all but I think he's right. If you play a game and don't like it why would you buy the next one? That sounds like common sense to me. Maybe I'm missing a part of the convo here.
Really? Not even how it handles the impacts of your decision to perfection? You cannot compare the consequences of the walking dead to any of the Bioware games. The walking dead has decision making as the prime concept in it's game model.
Ostensibly, but it doesn't actually work out that way. By the end of Chapter 3 you end up in the same place with the same people regardless of your choices (there's a reason "____ will remember that" is a sarcastic meme for Walking Dead, and it ain't because choices matter). Granted I've only played through once but the results of some of the choices I've read don't sound all that significant. Can you give me some examples? I love the Walking Dead, but it isn't because your choices really matter in the sense of creating branches or a personalized playthrough. I just think the writing is well done and that the ending is perfect.
