Haven't played a GTA game yet that I didn't give up on about a third of the way through.

The Walking Dead.
The Walking Dead.
Counter Strike.
O_O The Hell man!
How can you not like Counterstrike? It paved the way to the Modern FPS!
...Now i kind of get it after giving that a moment of thought.
Mass Effect 1 and 2.
Possibly due to my exposure on BSN, but Mass Effect in general is the most chronically overrated franchise in modern mainstream gaming circles. And that's saying something.
Opinions, always Opinions.
The Witcher 2.
For me it's the MOBA/ARTS type games. Many of the games I have in my library were chosen after I watched someone else play and was filled with feelings of "I have to play this!" When I see someone streaming a MOBA game (something Twitch does frequently for weekend championships, etc.) I almost instantly feel drowsy. Nothing about these games impresses me, and the people playing them are either borderline catatonic or raging (the latter being far more entertaining than the game itself).
Give me quests, puzzles to solve, dungeons to explore, worlds to save, stories to immerse myself in!
Its old and done. Time for new things and not the same old same old.O_O The Hell man!

I would go with Oblivion (didn't play Skyrim... why would I if I didn't care for Oblivion? lol)
I just couldn't get that invested in the world, mainly because the NPC's just had a soulless sort of feel to them and I found the combat a bit too repetitive. Also I just found the plot to be average, at best.
I was quite impressed with the mods at the time though.
Well, Oblivion was my first TES game as well. Really bland and soulless. Then I tried Morrowind, and was stuck behind the "get used to the graphics and not-smooth control over objects and characters" curve. At one point was mesmerized with the game though. It's not Oblivion. Far from it. It *does* have soul, and lots of it. Too much to be possible, I've thought at times. No repitition as in Oblivion. No shitty assets/artwork.
Skyrim is in my opinion more like Morrowind. Because Bethesda took heed of the opinions dissing Oblivion (rightly so).
So you should definitely try either Morrowind or Skyrim or both. Not the same experience as the cheap Oblivion. Not the same at all.
For Morrowind, I'd suggest the Overhaul mod-pack.

Despite what my last post implies I actually had a few reasons for missing out on Skyrim beyond what I thought of Oblivion, its mostly just that I just was busy with other games at the time and Skyrim was just a bit lower on my to play list. Its one I always intended to end up playing but never got around to it. Tbh this happens with a lot of triple AAA titles I look into playing. Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that the entire series should be judged based on Oblivion (even though thats almost exactly what I typed XD) I meant that Oblivion just didn't leave me wanting more or anticipating a sequel or anything.
I played a bit of Morrowind when I was younger, but not enough to make any real judgement on it.
If you had to recommend one or the other which would you choose between Skyrim and Morrowind? Keeping in mind I don't really care much about graphics or whats "newer"
Yeah, I'm thinking as far as Eastern video games, Final Fantasy VII is the most overrated. As for Western? Maybe one of, or all of, the Halo games.
The most overrated video game genre, is First Person Shooter. Seriously, CoD? BF? Counter-Strike? WTF?
7 was awesome but it isn't overrated by any one anymore, it was torn to shreds in West and East for near on twelve years.

The Walking Dead.

What did people see in the Walking Dead?
Nothing about the writing impressed me. Yeah, they gave minor characters fleshed out backgrounds, which is rare and nice, but I didn't find anybody compelling in the first episode. Lee came off as, frankly, not that articulate. Compared to Shepard, both his responses and voice were somewhat dull. Clementine was nice enough I guess, but I can think of a lot of characters that have caught my interest a lot more in less time.
I did not like the choices one bit, and that's not even seeing the consequences later on, which, from what I've heard, aren't very impressive. I believe I've heard that whatever character you save just dies a bit later on anyway?
There weren't really any themes I saw. It just...bored me, really.
I understand I only played the first episode, but this is 20% of the story. Things need to be off the ground by this time.
@Bob
I actually havn't played TWD, but Shepard and Lee seem like two very different types of characters. It would make sense that Lee would not be quite so over the top as Shepard wouldn't it?
Sure. But it's not good enough for a story or character to just make sense. It also has to be interesting and compelling. Lee came across as neither.
Pretty much every response Shepard has in the later games is a full, articulate sentence. I remember most of Lee's responses as being a few mumbled monotone words.

fair enough. I have only heard Lee in clips so I can't comment too much on him specifically. I just remember Shepard for giving 1 grandeur speech after another, its a bit hard for most characters to compare to that ![]()

I would take David Bob, seriously, but I'm not heroic powerful enough.
