I always end up regretting something about my first character's appearance because I'm so excited to play the game. Having a pre-character creator will let me spend hours toiling away at them.

If not, at least have a appearance editior in game. I don't think DA:O had one at all, and DA2 only had it as part of DLC. But that would allow me to quickly get into the game when I'm uber excited, and then fiddle all I want with appearance later.

Am I remembering this completely wrong, or did they release the CC for Dragon Age:O bevore the game came out?

They did, indeed, I had so much fun with it!

You mean like they did with Saints Row 3 and 4's character creator demo? Yeah I would get behind that idea. In fact why not a demo where you play your origin story?

A character creator demo would've been a good idea but as someone mentioned they aren't doing that, they will give a video demonstration of the character creator at some point.

Mike Laidlaw
.@Megin_Akoss @bearden_terry I read "demo" as "demonstration." And yes, we will demonstrate character customization as soon as it's ready.

@DannaGardner @Megin_Akoss @bearden_terry Likely video.

If I remember correctly they said they finished the character creator recently, so maybe we'll see it soon.

I'd enjoy spending a few hours working on  a couple characters. It would be a nice opportunity to begin fleshing out backstories, at least that is my opinion.

As someone that spends days -- even weeks -- tweaking and redoing and editing my characters in CharGen before ever getting into the game itself, I'm all for a chargen pre-release.  It helps immensely.

Oh I hope they do. I loved tinkering with the DAO character creator before the game came out.

Bumping, because I really do want more exposure behind this.

I'd love this but I think given the "Dragon Age Keep" and such chances are pretty slim on this occurring.

Oh well, at least there's wishful thinking.

just so you're headcanon can be squashed once the actual game comes out? I'm good with that.

I hope CC to be released along with the Keep, so we can customize not only the Inquisitor, but the Warden and Hawke too (if they're going to show up again, as I hope they'll do).

They've already said that there's not a character creator in the Keep somewhere, but it strikes me that making it so you can download a separate CC for each new game in the future (for console users who are building their saves on PCs and the like) and then upload the new 'Warden' and 'Hawke' appearance codes would be a very useful way to keep the Keep from needing a major CC overhaul for each tech upgrade, and yet allow the canon past protagonists to appear.

I'd very much like that, especially to see my Warden with the new darker skintones.

Pretty low chances of this happening but I'm all for it. I spend way too much time in CC, so having it before the actual game would be most beneficial.

Well that would certainly shut me up until October, I'm forever fiddling around in CC's...

Considering it usually takes me about a month to create an appearance for a character anyway, this would be something I fully support. Plus, it would give people a chance to show off what they've created with it so that I can see how much better everyone else's is compared to mine... and thus allow me to make improvements, accordingly.
