Ladies watch out ... he's horny.
Be a doll and link that artist so he or she gets credit and so we can see the rest of his or her stuff? Thanks!

Like a terra cotta warrior guarding Emperor Qin over eons, chiseled and proud.
Like a certain bulky Fullmetal Alchemist imperial, exuberant yet dignified.
Maybe even like you, Maiden Crowe. Maybe even like you.

Was kind of hoping for something more comically oversized.

I really, really hope that we do get a male desire demon this time. It irritates me no end when the game forces my characters who are not in the least attracted to females to go all starry-eyed over seductive, sexed-up women. This goes for Idunna, too. Or at least give the protagonist the option to say "You do realize that I am not even slightly tempted, I hope."
I get it. Desire demons neither male nor female, but use whichever form they've found to be effective, but surely they must have encountered a straight female or gay male at some point. The constant reinforcement of the idea that only females use seduction to get what they want is not a great message to send.

Which is why the female form just wont cut it when the majority of Dragon Age players are women and gay men. The Desire Demon needs a male form.
Are you making that up or do we have numbers?

Silly! All Desire demons are male. How else can they satisfy all desires?

One of the things that irritates me around this argument is that it assumes that desire demons assume the form they do as to be ****** material for whomever they're talking to. The idea that a creature is doing something wrong because it's not rearranging its body to your tastes is gross no matter what sort of social equality veneer you put on it.

Well, typically it is the female that is depicted as a seductress and I don't feel a male version would carry the same weight, plus it'd be a waste of time and resources. After all, you don't see people complaining about an absence of female Pride, Rage or Sloth demons do you? But that's just my opinion.
It's a bit like the mermaid dilemma; why are they always women with a bare upper body? Because sailors would be sex starved and gagging for it; the barest hint of a bare breast is enough to send them into paroxysms of desire. They wouldn't be attracted a male equivalent. (sexuality plays a part of course but you get my point)

^ Wow, I pretty much just said the same as you did. Oops. (I find myself skipping past the green type, tbh).
For what it's worth, here's what I said, before I realized...
Actually, if you think about it, aren't pretty much all of the other demons male? Sloth, Rage, Pride, Hunger; as well as every single other type of abomination/spirit/undead being represented in a male form: Revenant, Arcane Horror, Skeletons, Devouring Corpses, etc.
The desire demon is the only one that's female.
So, if you really think all demons should be male, I guess that's fine...but...a little selfish, don't you think?
Honestly, this whole conversation is weird. Who are you people?

What are you talking about? Sailors love a bit of burly man love, sodomy is a pirates favorite pastime.

Which felt odd to me considering other aspect of the game never once seem to make assumptions about the player' sexuality.
Desire Demon: "Behold mortal! I am here to seduce you, and also to trick you!"
Me (the player): "... You do realise I'm a straight female?"
Desire Demon: "Oh, well, this is awkward..."
Desire Demon: "Perhaps I can offer you a new set of shoes instead?"

I figured the desire demon was always female because lust is an emotional desire that effects men far more than woman (not denying females dont suffer the same).

The Desire Demons don't have genders to begin with. They just take on forms of what they feel is seductive to their particular target, which usually ends up being the female form we all know and have had sexual fantasies about.

Solely female Desire Demons kind of annoy me because it gives me the impression that the game anticipated it's player being a straight male (or anyone whose sexuality is inclined towards females).
Question: of all the desire demons in DAO and DA2, how many of them have actually tried to seduce you?
I find this assumption really irritating. Desire demons don't appear as female because they're out to sex you up; they appear as female because demons represent ideas and the female body is more commonly associated with 'lust' than the male form.

I can only think of one off the top of my head.

I'm assuming you mean the Redcliffe demon, yes? Even in that case, sex only enters the equation if the player suggests it. She's just as receptive to granting your desire for the secrets of blood magic or your companions' approval.

A few do.Question: of all the desire demons in DAO and DA2, how many of them have actually tried to seduce you?
If I remember correctly, the one that teaches you the Blood Mage speculation in DAO outright sleeps with the Warden in exchange for that information (and the promise of keeping Connor).
But effectively, every Desire Demon is trying to seduce the player to some degree - they are the only demon in the DA games to be overtly sexualised - their form, their clothing, their animations are all designed to enhance that.
I remember seeing a similar thread a while back, where David Gaider mentioned that more diversity in all demon's designs would be cool, but ultimately it would be a question of whether it was worth the additional resources (if I am remembering that correctly).
