Thread has pretty much derailed into bickering, but what the hey, I'll add another that bugs the crap out of me: Meeting Aria for the first time, having to listen to her stupid little "don't f--- with Aria" nonsense, and then being forced to have Shepard basically say, "hurrrrrr das a gud one Aria, me am like dat one. duuurrrrrrrrr." Ugh.

5. We can and we do. Shepard doesn't use any class abilities in cutscenes, despite how much they might make sense. This is necessary since such cutscenes would be pretty much impossible.

Yeah, the cut scenes don't really reflect anything entirely specific to each individual class, since there are too many (with the exception of Engineer for Omega), but in Citadel, the cut scenes vary between biotic and non-biotic, at the very least.

Five problems.

1. The player has no reasonable way of knowing what the consequences will be unless explicit foreshadowing is present, which is unlikely. So it's not a meaningful choice.

2. The player should not be required to play a class they don't enjoy to get the story they want.

3. The player character should not be defined by their class personality wise. This is very likely to happen if the narrative is altered for class. Even small comments will heavily establish characterization.

4. The likelihood of content being spread equally is low.

5. The use of class abilities canonically will cause problems by collapsing the player's assumption of the player character being narratively classless.

Other games have done these sort of things and to great effect. I'm not really sure where you are getting these rules from. Did you make them up? Because there doesn't seem to be any reasoning behind them besides being your own preferences.

I really should stick to the Dragon Age forums. The people disagree with me just as much, but at least they argue like adults instead of silly and helpless children.

5. Since when did anyone have an assumption of Shepard being narratively classless? What? Technically, the default Shepard is soldier. But you can't say Shepard is narratively a soldier, can you? That's just silly.

I like to use the example of Liara's time capsule scene, because what she says when describing Shepard gets pretty specific about the class. As a Vanguard, Liara will say that he/she is a powerful biotic that is unstoppable when charging into a fight.

Whatever Shepard's class is doesn't come in effect in cutscenes, aside from what weapon he uses in the DLC melee.

You're not the only one.

I believe Brooks also mentions something about you being engineer when infiltrating casino and Shepard once again does some hacking for herself. At least, I'm pretty sure that didn't happen when I was playing as adept. So, compared to others, engineers did get some attention in DLCs. Maybe they'll go that way in ME4?

I do know however, that Traynor mentions something about you being sent to Grissom, if it were openeded twenty years ago, in case Shepard is adept. And Liara mentions your class, if you kill Kaidan on the Citadel and later talk to her. So there is some class specific content, but not nearly enough, in my opinion.

Traynor's comment does apply to Vanguards as well, and I would assume Sentinels, since that's another biotic class. But anyway, I'd love to see some more class-specific handling of cut scenes in the new game.

So long as they stick to basic biotics and omni tools and don't effect the story or have certain classes do things other classes are incapable of doing, I'm all for it.

Well, sentinel is half tech, half biotic, but you may be right. Haven't played it yet, so I don't know. And it's been too long since my vanguard playthrough, so I don't recall her saying that. Adept has been the latest class I finished with, so I recall it clearly.

Obviously, not as specific as I had hoped for.

If you want an adult argument you first have to act like an adult. This petulant child act of yours and inability to act in a civil or mature manner is the reason why you have been banned not once but twice in these forums.

It's not us. It's just you.

Oh boy. Where do I begin, where do I begin?! This list is incomplete, I'm sure...

1. The whole Tali romance seems pretty one-sided, with Tali saying most of the "I love you" type of things, while Shep is content to talk about sex or... well, brush her off with a simple "Thanks." in ME3.

2. Constant wangsting about Earth, with no regard for other species.

3. Pulling a gun on Wrex. Speaking of which, there are several embarrassing and totally unrealistic ways for him to die. How does a krogan battlemaster badass like Wrex get pwnt by a pistol? It's nauseating.

4. Joins Cerberus.

5. Never brings up Admiral Kahoku when talking about Cerberus.

6. When talking to "the VS" on Horizon, there is no option to say "I agree with you! Cerberus is evil!"

7. Having nightmares about this random kid instead of anyone who would have made sense. Kaidan, Ashley, other squadmates, Emily Wong, hell even Jenkins would have been better! Sure, the voices are there, but the visual is that evil child who's probably a figment of his imagination.

It might surprise you to learn that being a 'badass' does not cause the laws of physics to warp around you. And physics dictates that a high velocity chunk of metal is quite effective in randomizing body tissue.

Shouldn't this complaint pretty much apply to the gameplay of the trilogy in total? Wrex is nothing special as far as krogan go, and throughout the entire trilogy, we can destroy everything with a pistol. If you're an Adept or Sentinel class in ME1, it's the only weapon you can use, and we fight a lot of krogan with it.

No regard for other species? Depends on how you play shep true enough, but there's (possibly) the genophage cure, saving the rachni queen (twice), peace between the geth and quarians...

Sometimes a pistol is the only weapon I take with me in ME3. Depends on the mission.

I like the pistol runs. I sometimes like to run with just the Predator because of its rapid fire rate, reload and accuracy.

Think we talked about the Predator a bit once before, when I complained about shep shooting at Kai Leng on the Citadel with a pistol instead of the Revenant I was using at the time. You convinced me that I was probably under-rating it, and now it's the only pistol I use.

Well actually, Wrex is pretty underwhelming as far as krogan go, if we judge by gameplay. In first game, he is apparently the only krogan who doesn't have redundant systems the krogan are so proud of. Once he goes down, he stays down, unless you manually help him. Every other krogan(that is, the enemy ones) gets back up once you down him and you have to kill him again. I believe that is the crux of the problem. Given everything Wrex has been through, he should be much sturdier.

Obviously a case of story and gameplay segregation, but a rather glaring one.

The Pistol with Marksman is the best weapon in the game though, back in ME1.
