The Pistol with Marksman is the best weapon in the game though, back in ME1.

That's not pistol anymore, that's SMG :P

I like the pistol. I did playthrough with a level 1 pistol on hardcore without using any powers.  It was the most challenging playthrough I've ever done.

Shepard's flirting with James.

This. It's very frustrating when my FemShep already chose the dialogues to keep it professional, refuse the nickname and all that, then after a few missions she's flirting in their autodialogue on the Citadel (right after the date with her real love interest).  :pinched: I reloaded that dialogue three or four times and every choice lead to the auto-flirt, so I ended up reloading one last time and just ignoring him.

Human Noble: "Gee, I wonder why Shianni had such a problem with me." *Switches to City Elf* "...oh. Oh. Sh**."

My first playthrough was with a City Elf. That was some introduction to Dragon Age.

City Elf is my favorite origin in DA:O. Carving a bloody path of destruction and vengeance through the Arl's castle and then saying, "Buh-bye, I'm off to be a warden now!" to the city guard is awesome.

My City Elf was the same way, killed them all for what they did. That conversation with Shianni after was so emotional. He was glad to get off the hook for his crimes by joining the Wardens, but...

Spoiler

My first playthrough was Female City Elf.

Holy hell.

Vaughan dies. Every. Single. Time. Only wish there were an option to grab the poker from the fireplace, cook it red-hot and jam it straight up his ass, slow-like. Burn him from the inside out. Haven't done a male City Elf, but I understand the path is different?

Something I randomly thought of from ME1...

The Council expresses doubt about the Reapers being real, and Shepard's response (veiled autodialogue, iirc; dialogue wheel yields the same thing regardless which option is chosen) is something like: Fifty-thousand years ago the Reapers wiped out all galactic civilization. If Saren finds the conduit, it will happen again!

He doesn't respond to their doubts, just warns them against something they just said they don't believe exists.

It would be like responding to "Prove global-warming exists" with "Global warming will destroy our environment!"

I played it as a rogue, and luckily got the spin-o-rama decapitation animation on Vaughan. It was very satisfying.

Well, there was that one time where she took entire team on go-do-nothing mission, leaving the entire ship vulnerable. With Reaper IFF installed.

To her everlasting shame, the crew just can't seem to forget that little mishap...

At that point I side with the council. Shepard was far too certain at that point about the reapers being real just as Shepard was far too certain about Saren being a traitor after Eden Prime.

All 3 responses about the reapers as you said gave the same line of certainty. It was often the case in ME1 that 2 or sometimes all 3 responses gave the exact same dialogue.

I rarely play as an Elf in Dragon Age Origins as I'm unable to make a decent looking one.

This might be a stupid question but is it possible to customize a female elf enough to look like, say, Lanaya of the Dalish?

I tried altering the face but my elf just looks like a warped version of the default.

You can. I did. Might post screenshots later. Granted, you need the toolset to change the angle of their ears.

Gotta recommend the Dragon Age Redesigned mod on the Nexus. Faces across the entire game (including Lanaya's) look far, far better.

I should clarify. I meant on consoles; not PC with mods.

I'm torn about consoles. Makes for a far better multiplayer experience on the one hand, no modding capability and resource limitations holding everything else back on the other.

I do that to for my Female Cousland as well, although I prefer the male version as it was one I discovered on accident (much to my enjoyment) and I like certain icy blonds.

Come on! Four friends getting together with a bowl of popcorn versus sitting alone at your computer with a headset?

You can also film your gameplay (easier). I've been wanting to post up a trilogy (or at least ME2/ME3 run) but I don't want to buy all the equipment needed to make it possible for Xbox. Plus, I like playing from the comfort of my couch or stretching.
