Hello all,

 

I made a new set of skyboxes for the Spelljammer project iteration from the September 2013 Custom Content Challenge. Notice It is not a stand-alone hackpack. You will have to upgrade the original "sj_tilesets.hak" from the September CCC SpellJammer pack using the aditional files.

 

The model used is a rounded cylinder. I think this is better at giving the "open space" feeling than the classical square model (and simple enough for my limited Gmax skills ;-) The panoramic textures are high resolution Targa pictures and these 7 new skyboxes are paired with 7 corresponding area loadscreens.

 

Skybox & area loadscreens themes: Asteroids, Atmosphere (white clouds), Atmosphere (Yellow world), Phlogiston, Z Dimension, Stars monochrome, Nebula (violet skybox to go with the "nebula" blocks from the wildspace tileset).

Just updated my Spelljammer Skyboxes to new v.03...

 

Improved some old skyboxes and added two new ones: "Approaching a Cristal sphere from Phlogiston" and "Approaching Cristal sphere wall from interior" (from Wildspace). Now, we have a complete set to depict all classic Arcane Space locations: atmosphere, asteroids, void, phlogiston and approach or leave a Cristal sphere. Each high rez Cylindric (panoramic effect) skybox comes with assorted themed loadscreen.

 

To use these you need the CCC september 2013 Arcane Space as this package upgrades the "sj_tileset.hak". It's not a standalone hack, but could be made independant easily if you choose so.
