They were not working together, they were traveling together from Kirkwall to where the game start (it was mentioned in some tweets when someone asked how long after DA2 the new game start).

I see. So I guess that could mean they simply parted ways shortly after their journey from Kirkwall.

Wait, so they were traveling together after DA2?  Now I'm all confused again.

If you remember the GI coverage from late last year, it pretty much says they were. To what extent or what for, though, remains anyone's guess. But apparently Varric did leave with Cassandra at the end of DA2.

The DA2 with Hawke(aka what you play) ends in 9:37.

The DA2 with Varric and Cassandra is in 9:40.

That gives Varric three years of wiggle room, and that's when the comics happen.

There was a tweet not too long ago that said you pick up Cass and Varric separately. Let me try to find it.

It's entirely possible that the person writing the Game Informer article was mistaken, it seems to be a pattern in magazine coverage for da:i.

Or they mean like you just don't get them at the same time. For example Cassandra finds you almost immediately then about 5 minutes later you run into Varric.

Or it could simply be out-of-date by now, though I doubt it, personally.

GI's coverage was pretty big and they're generally accurate with what information they provide.

You can do both.

Sometimes I can be such a fan of an actor (say, Marlon Brando), that I'll watch his crappy movies. Because he's at least engaging. And I'm not alone. Acting is an artform in it's own right.

Or sometimes a movie relies solely on an actor's performance that the story can't exist without it. Like Adrien Brody in the Pianist. He's mostly alone during the whole movie.

i really dont like to do it that way, i really only cared for about half of the movies tom cruise made, and i think they could have subbed in at least 2 other people who could have done just as good...  i see it this way, over in the bearded warden thread they are talking voice actors and 3 or 4 names are constantly repeated... not just anyone can play the role, but the role can be played by more than just one specific person, so i try not to go based on the actor, but the character in the story the actor portrays

Fair enough. I can agree with that. There's always multiple people who can fill a role and bring something to it. Otherwise, the role itself wouldn't be very good. Some roles are so good that different people fill their shoes 500 years later (like Shakespeare's characters).

Don't let Cass hear you say that. She might break you in half over her knee for it.

I freaking love Cassandra. She is my favorite companion revealed - slightly edging over Varric because of romance (hopefully). She would make the perfect Lesbifriend for my Inquisitor if she is Bi.

So I know her accent has been discussed, has there been any consensus? Because to me (admittedly not great) ear, I hear something like a Quebecois accent. Maybe Belgian. But it sounds frenchish to me. Not full on France/Orlesian though.

I'm just going to cut the knot and call it Nevarran. Then throw a fit on the forum if other people from Nevarra don't sound like that, huzzah!

Hah! Works for me. I still think she sounds almost Quebecois. Perhaps not lilting enough.
