I almost have to agree each subsequent playthrough I like her less. Though there does seem to be something going on between her and my Fem Shep.
Priestly shut the character forum down because he hated the idea of it to begin with. Mirandalorians, as they are termed, just gave him a pretty convenient excuse. And honestly, none of that **** is worse than purple, breast-milk milkshakes, licking sweat, and drinking urine. Tali's fans were on a whole 'nother level.
.....So much for having lunch.
My Shep would romance Ashley, but he's not into necrophilia.....
After the Miranda thread Civil War destroyed the Mass Effect character discussion forums
Hey!
Those malcontents had not the numbers to begin a true civil war. It was merely a small inconvenience, quickly dealt with. ![]()
The devs hardly needed to nuke everything.
About the reasons for the "Miranda civil war", the main problem was that people couldn't discuss different aspects of characters in different threads without the more specific threads vanishing down the forum history fast. Thus, people who were interested mainly in, say, romance were forced to interact with people who rather wanted to discuss another aspect of a characters and weren't interested in romance, and vice versa. Those who preferred light-hearted exchange began to resent people who posted serious and opinionated debate, while the latter resented an overabundance of OT and pictures etc.. etc.. Add a fanbase that was very divided along several issues plus some personal animosities, and things escalated to the point where one group didn't want to interact with the other anymore. Things got ugly, that's all anyone needs to know at this point, it's no use opening old wounds.
Similar petty infighting went on in a few other threads. The main cause of the civil war was heated discussions based on interpretations on Miranda's character. Some viewed her as a heartless shrew that deserved death while others viewed her as kind-hearted and willing to do whatever it takes to protect the people she cares about. Eventually the Miranda haters led by Taboo decided to make their own splinter group and started dragging the Miranda discussions onto other boards like the Liara and Tali threads. This was the last straw as that forum was considered to be a hive of trolling. Chris Priestly, the community manager at the time (he was kind of an jerk), finally had enough. After all the trolling attempts and the Miranda civil war trolling other forums, Priestly decided that enough was enough and completely shut down the forum and banned any character threads for the Mass Effect series with the justification that those threads would just result in trolling and more heated arguments. Thus, the Miranda Civil War was the straw that broke the camel's back.
That's...mostly accurate. I'm impressed.

I don't much mind her in ME1 (indeed, my canonShep's romance path is Ashley in ME1, then moving on to Miranda in ME2 and 3 after Horizon), but her constant "HOW CAN I TRUST YOU" and "HOW DO I KNOW YOU'RE NOT WORKING FOR CERBERUS" throughout the first third of ME3 killed any buzz I may have had for Ashley. I tolerate her now more than anything. She has some witty commentary for the Citadel DLC (who doesn't?) but that's about it.
One more smutty Cass picture for the night (I need something to calm me down, since raid night on WoW just made me angry due to the total lack of progression):

Raid nights are always stressful.

He comes to Cassandra's rescue in more ways then one.....Varric to the rescue at the end of the video.
Yeah, the term talimancer is notorius on the internet, and even has its own urban dictionary page.Priestly shut the character forum down because he hated the idea of it to begin with. Mirandalorians, as they are termed, just gave him a pretty convenient excuse. And honestly, none of that **** is worse than purple, breast-milk milkshakes, licking sweat, and drinking urine. Reminds me of Mass Effect 2 and Ashley's poorly written scenes. I'm glad they cut this out.
Anyway, here's a pic I took last night after creating my new character.

I finally got around to killing all 10 High Dragons. Even though the Highland Ravager outleveled my entire party by 2 whole levels, it went down incredibly fast (less than a minute, if I had to guess) despite putting up guard 2 or 3 times.
All I had to do was spam Leaping Shot as an archer/artificer. Since crits (both mine and party members') reduce cooldown times and grant Stamina, I would just mash the button and never stop casting. I had the bow that fires 3 arrows per attack (I forget the name) with a master dragon-slaying rune. Varric, Solas, and of course Cassandra in my party.
I even made Cass a set of fire resist armor (80% fire damage reduction), but not a single person took any damage. Was great.
Sera makes Dragon slaying an piece of cake, with tier 3 Thousand cuts with might offense tonic. It's usually enough to milk over half of the dragon's health in one go.
Also, I wonder, do you guys think Cassandra will get an visual change in future games? Like let loose of her braid? Kind of like Ashley in ME3.

I hope not, I hated they did that to Ashley in ME3

I hope Cassandra keeps her hair short like it is with her braid. I don't much care for Ashley's appearance in ME3 wither way. I just know that whenever I see her I can't help but think "wow, they really tried to make her look more like Miranda so people would romance her". It's not true, but I can't help but think it.

You're not entirely wrong, since they did make her appearance like that specifically for sex appeal

I know they did it for the sex appeal (I have the art book, and that's explicitly what it says for Ashley's entry in the ME3 section), but they didn't do it to make her look like Miranda like I said.
I do notice that Ashley's cup size is at least a full letter bigger in ME3 though. Liara's too, though she 'grew' in LotSB with her new outfit. They both went from a moderate B cup to a high C, at least, in 3. At least Samara and Miranda's chests stayed consistent. Also, Liara's lip stick in ME3.

True, but they probably did have Miranda in mind since Ash's outfit kinda resembles it

Not really.

They're both wearing coat tops and pants (it looks like Miranda's sleeves aren't a part of her top though, since you can where they 'join' on her back, and they look like they're made out of a different material than the rest of her clothes) and they're both caucasian brunette women. I wouldn't say that's enough to say they look alike. If it were, then every white brunette women in the world who wears a a jacket and matching pants looks alike. Ashley's outfit has numerous details and small touches that make it stand out from Miranda's (and ditto for Miranda's standing out from Ashley's). About the only thing their clothes share is that they're both low cut and the pants are tight-fitting (though Miranda is srsly better looking than Ashley ever will be, and her boob window is bigger) two-pieces. Ashley's top doesn't bother me because it's pretty practical, given the setting (you wouldn't wear a big and baggy jacket or coat on a space ship, you'd look like an idiot) and not necessarily sexy. This is just in regards to Ashley default non-combat outfit in ME3 though, I forget what her other uniforms look like.

They openly admitted to trying to boost Ashley's sex appeal.

Oh wait nvm, I was thinking about one of Ash's concept designs that looked exact like Miranda's outfit ![]()

Do you mean one of these?

Ashley's entry in the ME3 section of the art book.

Damn.
