This helped immensely. Ok, no flirting with the stach...I think I can do that.

Yes, seriously. Don't do that. You can never be sure when the romance lock in point is reached and some LIs are simply cut off then. I once ended up in a romance with Blackwall without even realizing. Not everybody is as fine with being second best as Cullen. I do not know about Cassandra but if you want to romance her I'd not take too many chances with others.

So if you concentrate on her and just try to gain approval (which I find very easy because she is a sensible person) things will turn out fine without too much trouble. Cassandra is in fact so easy to gain approval with, I could get her to maximum disapproval, see the drunken scene, and max out approval afterwards in the same playthrough. Her personal quest alone is (nearly?) enough to win her over.

I find myself in need of some advise. I created a male character specifically to romance Cassandra, due to some choices, I ended up with Dorian. Okay, lets try again, created another male and ended up with Dorian.

Do all roads lead to Dorian? Is it just me? How can you work up the favor of the Seeker? I prefer the Mage playthrough, want Leliana as Divine.

Other than flirting with Dorian, what advise can you all provide?

... Is this a bad joke?

I can't say if you're offended with the fact that someone's rolling a mage/pro-mage or that someone was hitting on Dorian at the same time. Out of curiosity, which is it?

I got locked into blackwall without knowing it too.

And I found this on tumblr, and I thought it was super-cute.

From the blurb that goes with the pic, it's not cassandraxlelliana.

Just leliana being a troll and surprising cass with a random friend hug.

I've finally made it to the part where you catch Cassandra enjoying her... hobby.

But I didn't save the game because all I could think was, what would a good friend do?

Not telling Varric as she pleads you? Telling him but not bringing him along when it's time to deliver the book?

Or really taking Varric with you? I mean, these two need to get along better. But at the same time, it seemed like he just wanted to rub it in and nothing more.

Do you guys think there is any chance that we might get a Cassandra-centric DLC? Maybe something exploring her origins like Leliana's Song? I know they touched on that in Dawn of the Seeker, but it still might be fun.

That's why it's not gonna happen, though I do hope they touch on the Divine in a DLC

I thought it was a nice touch the way they mentioned Regalyan during Cassandra's romance scene. I always had a suspicion that they hooked up, and now it's been confirmed :) I know people are mixed on Dawn of the Seeker, but I thought it was a fun watch. The fact that he perished at the Conclave lent the intro some extra gravitas as well.

Yea, I'm glad that I was able to fill that empty void for her. I almost fill bad making her Divine, because now she has lost the second person she ever loved. Unless DLCs address this. *Cross fingers.*

I thought it was the weirdest time to mention him tbh.

Yeah, the Divine choice was a hard one for me. On the one hand Cassandra is the most rational, sane choice, and I like her ideas (reform and righting past wrongs without seeking vengeance, tolerance and acceptance of mages without just setting them loose on the world) ... but I was romancing her.

Ended up going with softened Leliana. My goal all along had been mage freedom since the Origins days .... but now that it has been realized, I don't know if that's the best route to take.

She actually mentions him beforehand in party banter

Honestly, I never had a problem with her mentioning Regalyan in the romance scene.

It helps explain why she's ready to rip the Inquisitor's head off at the start.

Agreed.

Way to ruin the moment there Cassandra.  We just had the hottest, sweatiest sex ever and the second it's over she mentions her former lover that she lost her virginity to.  There's tactless and then there's CASSANDRA TACTLESS.

Well, that's with Varric, not with the Inquisitor. Or is there one he can participate in too?

Now she'll rip your head off if you forget their anniversary :P

I believe this was discussed before, but what was not at this point.

I think it was the strangest part of her entire companion arc. She wants to discuss it? By all means, let's do. She mentions death of the Divine and how she is sad about it multiple times, why not mention Regalyan too, as another close person she lost to that explosion? Tell something about him in the manner she tells you about her brother? Could've been done quite early too, help the Inquisitor understand her motivations even more. Nope, nothing. Apparently doesn't even come up, if the Inquisitor is not romancing her, apart from that banter, that you may not even get. I know I didn't, just saw it on wiki.

Instead she drops that on you like a bomb right after the sex scene in the most bizarre fashion. Like, oh I've been with only one guy before. Uhh okay, Cassandra. Oh and he died btw, quite recently in fact! What are you even supposed to say to that under the circumstances? Sure, it serves as a lead up to her saying that Corypheus won't get the Inquisitor, and it sort of makes sense. But I still find the decision to write it this way rather strange, not bad per se, just strange.

Hehe, this gave me a chuckle.

It didn't bother me but I think you raise some valid points.

Well, the Inquisitor and Cassandra were making love, and she just probably feel that it was best to tell the new man she loves about the man she once loved. We all know how awkward Cassandra is, so I guess that added to her awkwardness.  Basically, she just wants the inquisitor to stay safe, and not die.

There's actually a dialogue option post-coitus where you can say something to the effect of, "Way to ruin the moment." I think it's kind of in line with her character, though. The woman's awkward. She's basically served in a militant branch of the priesthood her whole life. Her only experience with men is Regalyan ... and vicariously through romance novels.
