It is indeed sad that Cassandra has nothing to say about you becoming a templar. Had to headcannon the conversation with her about this. Oh well. She apparently only comments on mortalitasi and reaver specs.

It is not only sad, it is even weird. When I had specialized I ran to her right away, nothing. I poked her again and again, in real life she would have probably just hit me at some point, but nothing. Who the heck wrote that? Thing is I could not headcanon that. Because I really don't know what she would say. While she does (did?) think highly of the Templars she also knows their burden and what they must go through and sacrifice. I cannot believe she would take my decision lightly and say "Yeah, all good fun, right?". I assume she should be worried, especially seeing what Cullen goes through. Then again, she might also approve of it because she would have gone the same way had she not been assigned to the Seekers. In short, I was genuinely interested in her reaction.

*snip*

I imagined that she would support the Inquisitor, if she sees that he/she has an understanding of what that entails and that it is a heavy burden to carry. She can certainly relate to someone, who makes personal sacrifices for the greater good or some higher purpose and appreciate the willingness to do so. That's what Cassandra has practically been doing her whole life after all.

On a side note there's nothing like your girlfriend being able to literally set your blood aflame.

I agree, I guess. Still, she is also so aware of Cullen's suffering. At least for a romanced inquisitor she should worry and be scared to see him suffer like that. Or remember one of the Templars outside the Chantry in Denerim (DAO). That mental husk. I don't think she would want that, but the danger is always present. I assume Cassandra would mention it, she is very considerate and very worried about her LI it seems.

She would be worried, yes, but given the stakes of your mission, she will reluctantly accept this, I guess. And Cullen only suffers because of withdrawal, if you constanly get your fix, you'll be alright. Also I imagine it takes some time for a serious addiction to develop, so maybe the Inquisitor will have it easier, if he decides to stop at some point. Because Cullen's been taking lyrium much longer. As for the lost memories, that's not a cheery prospect, but you have to grow old first, and you might not get the chance, if you lose. So first things first. It's also somewhat expanded in the Inquisition, as shown in this video.

Not quite. He suffers terrible nightmares and even he cannot remember many things. He forgot without being old yet, and he mentions some even forget to an extend where they do not remember their family or friends. (Again, see the husk.) Cass is just lucky she never went that path. And she acknowledges how "Templars never make their suffering known", so she knows it's not all fluff as long as you keep taking the lyrium.

I always choose the Templar spec, it's not like I wanted to talk you down here. And I assume getting off the lyrium once Corypheus is defeated is an option. (Not likely however, somebody new will come up and there will never be a point where you simply give up what makes you strong. Or at least I cannot imagine I would come a point where I would feel sure about never needing the powers again.) I only cannot imagine Cass would simply not worry.

Oh I did not perceive that way, no worries.

Yeah, I suppose you never know when the protagonist of the next DA game is going to leave you in the fade. Better stick to your guns. Still, a man can dream.

I thought Cullen has nightmares because of what he endured at Ferelden circle tower, not because of lyrium. And the others suffer because of blood mage hunts and failed harrowings Cullen mentions. Which is not something simple folk see. Or is lyrium the cause? Then I guess the dwarves are super lucky, as they can't dream.

Anyway, the Inquisitor sees this horror stuff regardless of being a templar, so potential for nightmares and the like is always there whatever your spec is.

But that's probably enough derailment from me. And, sadly, I have nothing meaningful to say on topic :(.

When she is going toe to toe with Denam single handedly?

When is Cassandra ever NOT vulnerable?

When she proc Walking Fortress from Her shield, weapon or armor.
After I gave her those items, she was invulnerable.

On the topic of future DLC and ways to incorporate more Cassandra ... I thought it might be interesting if we take a trip to Nevarra. The Mortalitasi and their death cult sounded pretty interesting, and there are a lot of machinations surrounding control of the Nevaran throne. Maybe something dealing with King Markus and a plot to usurp him?

We also don't know much about her surviving family, other than that she has a strained relationship with her uncle.

I doubt they'll do a dlc like that, considering all alc is post campaign, and Cassandra doesn't have to be in the party.

I am sure it was already asked or discussed but I must have missed the memo. What is it about Cassandra and bears people joke so often about?

Sorry for interfering. Here Cullen says it's not magic.

But I also don't understand how dwarves can develop templar abilities if they are practically resistant to lyrium. Plus stuff templars take is probably not concentrated, or it would kill humans outright.

Ser does mention that there's a big difference between exposure and infusion. That and the Templars take much stronger doses of lyrium than Mages do.

Hi, everyone. Today I finally decide to comment in this wonderful thread after reading aprox. 70% of it. Just to add a little about the Regalyan thing being drop after the romance scene, for me personally the only thing that bother me was lack of understanding of her relationship with him. For a moment I thought that she was telling the Inquisitor that she had a relationship with Regalyan that stop with his death at Haven. Which implied that the Inquisitor was just her rebound at best. But after analizing it a bit more and realized that that wasn't the case. I was able to appreciate what she was saying in a better light. The timing doesn't bother me. It even make sense to me that she would mention it at this moment where she is the most vunerable, her defenses down, trying to keep the emotional bond with the Inquisitor. And as we know she is direct and honest. If she is being this open to the Inquisitor about her feeling before and at the moment is because for her that's the way to show her love. Or at least that what I believe IMHO :D Either way whether that was appropriate or not I love her character, quirks and akwardness and all :)

She says that whatever she had with Regalyan, it was short and fleeting (her own words). If I had to guess, they had something right after Dawn of the Seeker (it's hinted at in the movie), but Cassandra broke it off after she was named the Right Hand of the Divine. Or, rather, they were together after she was made Divine, but since they knew that both of them would be both far apart and unbelievably busy (Galyan as a Circle Enchanter and Cassandra as the Right Hand), they ended the relationship on peaceful terms.

Of course, that's pure speculation and could be entirely wrong. I just base this on how Cassandra speaks of Regalyan, and how she holds her duty to the Chantry above all else.

Banter between Sera and Cassandra. Sera asks Cassandra if she's ever punched a bear, and they go off onto this weird tangent about it.

She does make a very brief mention of it during Cullen's personal quest. I think it's where Cullen tries to talk Cass into removing him from command. After he leaves, she mentions something about him serving as an example to the templars in the Inquisition that lyrium addiction can be beat, and she links that to you, if you ever want to quit. That's the only time I can recall that she mentions it.

Yes, I agree to this. I admit the romantic atmosphere might have distracted me from the actual conversation a bit the first time I saw it. But after a rewatch I got a better understanding :) I have nothing to criticize about it. It's a great scene :D
