Not surprising that SJW continue to by hypocritical morons. I remember this one time that there was a spanish character on an old show I used to watch and apparently a SJW found out and complained that it was racist against hispanics and that everyone should protest the studio that made it. I pointed out that I'm hispanic and didn't find it offensive and that the cartoon really wasn't that offensive all things considered. I'm not kidding when I say the SJW proceeded to go on a rant about how I am a traitor to my race and that every hispanic in existence should skin me alive and execute me for treason. Once again, not even kidding.
People on Tumblr found a way to blame the victims of the Charlie Hebdo attack back in january ("I don't say they desserved it, but..."), to defend one of France's most infamous anti-Semit because he happens to be a PoC and plenty of my countrymen were insulted for expressing grief and shock about the traumatizing event and lectured about our own country's faults and mistakes. You know, the kind of things we're all very aware, and we understand a lot better than, let's say, some american teenager. Since then, I'm done with SJ content on Tumblr.

And nobody here was name-calling or making death threats. So no, nobody was attacking anybody personally.
I did see the response before it was deleted, and it certainly came across as though everyone discussing the mod was accused of personally attacking the creator, in spite of the fact that there was only one post that really even came close to that.
I didn't see what happened on tumblr, but the accusation leveled against those discussing the issue on BSN was definitely uncalled for.
Gaming was never 'simple'. Before Social justice crept into everything, the big thing was 'ermagerd super greedy corporations' and microtransactions and how DLC is going to kill gaming. Before that, there was 'ermagerd mobile games are going to kill consoles and PC'. Before that, there was the overload of shoddy, awful games from the PS1/Nintendo 64 era, which itself is just a continuation of the overload of shoddy games from the NES days, when gaming was frowned upon and you were a social pariah to call yourself a gamer.
Actually, that last one is in effect again now as well, since every other gaming publication (Kotaku and Polygon in particular) all want to cry "GAMERS ARE DEAD!" and label us all as misogynistic rapist N@zis because people like Zoe Quinn and Anita Sarkeesian are professional victims (after all, who wouldn't help out a poor, defenseless young woman being attacked by vicious BULLIES?). Only in the past the most you would hear is "lol nerd virgin", now it's "wow, you must really hate women, you're an immoral monster".

Well, there's nothing stopping folks on tumblr from reading this thread to see the "harassment" for themselves.

While I also think harassing her for the mod was going to far, it's perfectly valid for people to criticize the mods existence

What kind of harassment are we talking here? Like, "I know where you live and I'm going to kill you and your family" Hepler-level harassment, or "gah, how could you do this, this is awful," level harassment?
The former there is absolutely no excuse for, and the people responsible should be held accountable for making death threats, if possible.
The latter, well, what do you expect when you do something controversial? To me, that would be half the fun. "Don't like it? Kiss my butt, suckers!!" You have to have a thick skin.

Oh, just keep a sense of humor about it and understand where you're posting. Pretty much everyone in this topic is very emotionally invested in their male Inquisitor with Cassandra (which is fine and just speaks to the super compelling characters Bioware makes.)
I post a lot in a Varric/Cass forum and these guys hate us too. Someone there posted about the bi Cassandra mod, we more or less collectively shrugged our shoulders and someone wondered what it would take to have a mod where Cass kisses Varric.

Yeah but the cass kissing vatic mod doesn't completely **** on her character. Cass is straight and can romance dwarves, so it's a different thing.

I Never really paid attention to the gaming journalists and the media in general until recently as i never felt what they did affected the product we get in a negative way, its no longer the case. Now devs are shaking in their boots when releasing contents because maybe just maybe said content might offend someone somewhere, games are a form of art , everybody loses in the end when we take the devs's artistic freedom away, people like Sarkeesian and her white knights couldnt care less though.
Oh it extends out side the SJW, but I'd rather not get into that. Lest I put friends jobs in jeopardy.
