I have no issues with the custom clothing being implemented in the game. What I do have issues is these mods. People always end up insisting the writers change the lore to cater to their demands. These people insist they are right, they know better than the writers/developers. Its selfish. Oh and before you accuse me of being homophobic...the minute I see Sera and Dorian mods...I will CALL THEM OUT as well. Like I said...what people do, play their games is their business but there is a huge group of people who think they know better than the writers and will take these mods to the extreme and demand the writers change the lore. Ive seen this before and its going to happen again.
When all is said and done, the writers have the right to their vision the same way people have the right to play their games the way they want.
I've never brought homophobia into this, and I'm not sure why you think it'd be something I'd respond with.
In regards to your main point, though, I'd just say this: the vocal minority of crazies do not represent the silent majority, who will most likely download this mod and never mention it. I don't think you should use them to generalise towards the entire fanbase, because most of the fanbase probably accept the lore as-is, whether they like it or not, and therefore have no need to talk about it publicly, and so you don't see them as much.
Reminds of the time talimancers sent death threats to me because I wouldn't love their virginal alien gypsy.
lol.
I mean, Tali is my go-to romance for Mass Effect (after based goddess Samantha Traynor), but sending death threats over not liking a character that doesn't even exist is setting the bar high for silly fan behaviour. Some people really need some time away from fiction, or to spend more time outside, or just to do something that reminds them that the characters they're this obsessive over don't care about the size of their fanbases, because they're not real.
I mean, really. When are death threats ever warranted?
