This thread runs on awkwardness. It's nice to see the other fan's threads talking about us. I guess we're the official problem kids on the block.

Potentially. When it comes to mods, it only seems to be cassandra that gets protests against a mod based on her. Any other companion doesn't get many complaints. Dorian's mustache removed? He looks so young, it doesn't suit him. Cassandra's eyebrows made soft? Aw hellanaw

To be fair, in Cassandra's case she's one of main companions who got the most complaints. Which some people even wanted mods to make her "beautiful"

So honestly mods for Cassandra in-general is a touchy subject in itself

Or is that what you meant?

But ... she's already beautiful!

I love Cass, a lot.  She makes me smile, and laugh.  She quickly became one of my favorite characters BioWare has ever created.  I love that she's such a strong woman, both physically and mentally.

I am a straight woman.  I am currently playing a male character to see her romance.

I have never understood the complaints that she's manly or unattractive.   I'm not exactly sure what my point is :P.   Just popping in I suppose to say Hey Cass thread! and I love her too.

I had to Google that name.

The comparison made me sad.

I know you did not just insult Lin Beifong

Whoa!? You're playing a male character to romance out beautiful Lady Pentaghast!? Good on you. I share your views on why she's my favorite character.

Well everyone stands up against those "trolls" that says Cassandra and Josephine is ugly, and needs to be mod. Just go look in the Feedback and Suggestion.

Well, different strokes for different people. Would you believe if I said that I don't find Cassandra all that attractive but I actually find Calpernia quite the looker? I just do.

It's just that some of Cassandra features can look rather masculine. I mean, look at her romance art:

I'm sure that if you show this to people that never heard of Dragon age before, some of their reactions would probaly be "who is this guy supposed to be?"

Well, this thread's just had a minor shitstorm.

A bit refreshing, actually, considering this thread was clinically dead before. Fight, fight, fight!

The idea that they're relevant outside the Internet is pretty new to me.

I think it's a bit short-sighted to assume that anything that draws public attention online could be irrelevant in the physical world, especially when related to gaming.

However, as much as I appreciate this thread being lively and discussing Cass again... sort of... I don't actually get how people can care so much.

I'm a console gamer so I don't mod. I would, however, mod the **** out of my inquisitor's outer appearance if I could.

I'm female, I will flirt with Cass until she demands me to stop. Because I like when she does that. One more scene and fun until I get there. But I do not feel the desire to actually romance a female character. I also do not feel the desire to romance Dorian, though I liked him from the start and was a bit disappointed to learn he was gay. But that's the point for me, that's the experience. I play my game like I would act in real life. He is gay, I respect that. I don't go around trying to change people around me, it would feel wrong even if I could. And so I feel no desire to mod my game to change them there. I could but I won't. End of story.

Games are an art form in my eyes, no matter how much users demand them to be a service recently. The developers and writers decide what they want to present and I respect whatever that decision is. I so cannot stand when somebody attacks a game for being whatever it is. You don't like chainmail bikini armor? Don't play the game. You don't like swearing and cursing? Don't play the game. You don't want romances to be gender/race gated? Don't play the game. I like all that - let me have my game.

But if other people don't respect the choice of the developers, fine, let them have their way. It's a democratic country. Better they mod than they make BW act on their behalf and produce the game others demand they produce.

Tough, hey, maybe it's best companies just stop producing games for PC at all, so they don't need to worry about people distort-modding their games anymore. Console gaming ftw! (That's better, right?)

The world would be such a boring place if we all liked the same things.  I have no qualms with folks having their own preferences.  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder etc.

I agree that tile for the Keep, looks like a guy.  That isn't her in game though.  If you ask me they did a terrible job on her tile, aside from the stern eyebrow I would never say that was Cassandra.  That doesn't mean she looks like a man in game.

I still say that for me personally I don't think she looks manly.  Anyways I just wanted to share some Cass love, not get drawn into debating her physical appearance, even though I was commenting on her attractiveness.  How she looks doesn't matter in the end anyways, because she's a fantastic character.

I have to agree about case's tile. When I first saw it, I thought it was a new dlc character leak. However, its the art-style too that is affecting it. For example cas shaw nice lips and striking eyes, but you can't see that.

Aww that's adorable. I know my male inky  would want to adopt it..

Male inky."Awsome, it can be  like a hunting dog."

Cass "It is a  wild bear, lord inquisitor.."

Male Inky "A hunting bear then!"

Cass "disgusted noise'

Eh, I think they should go back to DA2's methods and have everyone be bisexual.

To make everyone bisexual means no lesbian nor gay characters. I doubt it is the solution.

I consider that an acceptable loss, personally, especially given that the one lesbian character we got completely sucked.

There's still a lot of people that loved Sera, and Dorian seems to be pretty much a universally liked character outside of the few people who just dislike him on principle because he's gay.

I ran out of likes, but I just wanted to support what you've been saying here in this thread.  I don't really care for Sera or Josephine as romance options, and I'm very happy about this new bi Cass mod.

Yes, but so were the bisexual characters of DA2, so again, I don't consider it too big a deal.

Ah, thanks. My girlfriend feels the same way (I was never really attracted to Cassandra in the first place and have come to appreciate Josephine), and would enjoy the game a lot more with it on.

I think its best if the bi-mod people take their discussion to a group, or something. Otherwise it's going to become super-tense again.

If there are enough people, perhaps we'll make a new topic.
