Such is the way of Tumblr. As Josephine says "never underestimate those who consider being offended a sport."

Have some more Cass:

One gangster that I wouldn't mind working with.

She is a "thug" in the chantry, according to one old stubborn bureaucrat.

She's no gangster, pal.  You're looking at a straight-up G-Woman.

Boardwalk Empire would've been so much better and easier on the eyes if she had taken the place of Nucky.

Cassandra is a Seeker, e.g. a detective.

I would pay money for a Seeker mystery game a la L.A. Noire (with the interrogations, I mean). I demand that Cassandra get a parlor scene. Every good detective gets a parlor scene.

A 1940's neo-noir detective story would be a pretty sweet idea for an alternate-universe kind of thing for the Inquisitor and Cassandra. It makes sense, given their titles. The Inquisitor and Cassandra work at the local PD as partners on cases, when the femme fatale (Calpernia, in this case) comes in asking for help with a problem she has. The case develops, one thing leads to another, and the Inquisitor and Cassandra reveal a conspiracy that threatens the welfare of the city, prompting Calpernia to betray the two, giving them over to Corypheus (who would be a crime boss in this scenario). Inquisitor and Cassandra manage to escape captivity, fight their way through Corypheus' Venatori and Red Templar goons, eliminate the boss himself (but not before nabbing that vital piece of evidence linking Corypheus to the crime), and foil his plans. Back at the station, they present the evidence and the Inquisitor and Cassandra get their parlor scene, where they use the gathered evidence to give the dramatic reveal of what Corypheus' plan was and what it entailed, and then they get promoted.

Boom, an idea for a not-sh*tty fan fiction. And no, you can't have it.

For the past 6 months, it's like everything I read or watch has some kind of "you're a bad person because you're a male" angle to it, and it's getting really old. I can't just ignore it anymore because it's EVERYWHERE. Hell, there are entire websites dedicated to the "straight men are the devil" trope with Tumblr and Jezebel. Even otherwise benign and harmless websites like Cracked are turning into the uber-PC nonsense cliques of 'normal people' vs. 'men'.

The irony here is you can't take it anymore after mere 6 months, when it's a fraction of standard experience women go through their entire lives.

Where do you live where women are actively told (to their face, by total strangers) that they are evil and awful just by being born female?

Also, I love your use of this atrocious fallacy.

"You can't complain, women have been suffering for far longer than you have!"

Exactly how are women actually suffering? In the modern age, the average woman doesn't have any distinct disadvantages compared to her male counterparts. There are no scholarships offered to men like there are to women (or ethnic minorities, or disabled people, but that's besides the point). Women win custody cases for children far more than men do. Hell, an innocent man can't even defend himself in court against a faulty rape charge (and even if he somehow manages to defend himself and not be charged, he's going to be a pariah in his community, so good luck finding a job after that). And if a man presses rape charges against a woman (because women can rape men, contrary to popular belief), he'll be laughed out of the courtroom, because rape laws in the U.S. (depending on the state you live in) were written specifically to protect women and not men.

I'm not saying that men are oppressed, but women don't have it nearly as hard as people like to complain. Men and women have been more or less equal in social respects for a while now. If anything, women actually have it easier now in many respects than men do. If a woman likes something typically seen as manly? Most people would say she's just being an individual, expressing her tastes and interests. If a man likes something otherwise seen as girly? He's assumed to be either gay or a creep. If a woman stays home and furnishes the house, takes care of the kids, and prepares dinner every night, she's a hard working house wife. If a man does it while his wife works, he's a lazy bum for not working a real job and making his wife support the both of them plus their kids.

It's called Earth. Third planet in the Solar system.

But now I'm curious, were you actually, personally, actively told (to your face, by total strangers) that you are evil and awful just by being born male? Because your original comment only mentioned "reading" and "watching" being on so tiresome and frustrating to you.

Also, I love your use of this atrocious fallacy.

"You can't complain, women have been suffering for far longer than you have!"

I love this straw man you've constructed; because I said nothing of this sort.

If I had to clarify the point of my post, it was like I said, the irony of a guy complaining how awful it is to suddenly live the life of a less privileged person (yet seemingly failing to recognize he isn't exactly getting worse lot than these other people) You know, the sort of a funny it is to see a millionaire complain about the injustice of suddenly having to punch a clock and flip burgers to make a living.

Exactly how are women actually suffering?

Let's see, the easiest way would be to use something you should be familiar with:

it's like everything I read or watch has some kind of "you're a bad person because you're a woman" angle to it, and it's getting really old. I can't just ignore it anymore because it's EVERYWHERE. Hell, there are entire websites dedicated to the "women are the devil" trope.

By your own words, this is insufferable experience that sets you on the edge. Except it's not happening only for the last 6 months, it's been standard for as far as you can reach back. We aren't going to suddenly dismiss it now as trivial just because it's something that's experienced by someone that isn't you, are we?

Ah Cas, you were my first love in DAI. You were angry at me, but not overly so. Reasonable enough to allow a mage his staff to defend himself, but the first moment you truly endeared yourself to me was when Varric was desperately trying to make an atrocious 'Harding In Hightown' pun with Scout Harding and I was introduced to your 'disgusted noise'.

I've since downloaded that and made it my text message notification sound, which never fails to amuse me.

In my Male Inquisitor canon playthrough, you were my love interest because frankly, you were an old fashioned romantic. You could be teased about your love of Varric's books, but defended passion... well... passionately. It was glorious.

Anyway, I don't usually post in these threads, but Cassandra, you rock.

Also, if anyone has a link to the Cassandra in ME armour link, I'd love to see it as I am not going to read over a thousand pages of this thread :)

Cassandra truly is a woman after my own heart.  If only she were real.  Women these days hate romantics.
