I have to wonder though, when they said that their goal was to give everyone "at least two options", did they mean just in terms of sexuality or race as well?

 

because if race restrictions do exist there would need to be a lot of LI's to give every Inquisitor at least 2 options. 

 

As for Cassandra specifically... It's hard to say because we know nothing about her taste. I'm pretty sure (thankfully) that she will be available to male Elves and Humans, probably Dwarves as well. 

 

In truth the only race I see suffering from race restrictions is Qunari.

I see Cassandra attracted to actions and deeds more than someone appearance. Unlike someone like Vivienne, who is all about appearance.

 

I think Vivienne is more of an opportunist who would charm anyone and sleep with anyone just to get ahead. And since she cares so much about appearance and beauty, she strikes me as the type who would swing both ways.

 

If they really are going the route of one straight and one bi, I'm almost certain that Cassandra is going to be the straight-only one.

That's an interesting take on that but I've got to ask, will race restrictions even matter?

 

The ONLY two potential LI's I see race restrictions being placed on are Iron Bull and Varric.

 

Varric said before he's only into dwarven girls and Iron Bull would be pure size if anything else.

 

It wouldn't surprise me at all if some human companions are adverse to romancing qunari, elf, or dwarf PC's.

I really doubt that Vivienne would sleep with anyone to get ahead. It could be used against her in The Game. Cassandra do not care about politics.

Yeah, I posted a similar statement in the romance thread and he replied to it with that response. 

 

Personally I just hope Cassandra likes male elves, since I'm still dead-set on my awkward, energetic and slightly childish male Elf/Cassandra playthrough. It doesn't seem like too much of a stretch by any means, but who knows after all these new revelations. 

 

I couldn't see Vivienne going into a relationship with anyone who was not a human though. Look at how Celenes relationship with an elf backfired on her in the game.

Huh, and so many wanted her to be a romance in DA2. Finally a reality for DAI. 

 

Well out of the cast so far that I've seen Cassandra takes  the cake, though I may be bias due to her being a returning character and her having that animation thing.

According to Iron Bulls bio in the interview, he doesnt seem picky in the least bit. Cassandra i feel will be open to any one with Sera being gay. Vivienne im not too sure is romancable

My guess is that at best, Varric will be a non Qunari romance and Iron Bull a Non Dwarf romance.

At worst, they are only a romance for there own race, and Bi.

 

I doubt they'll restrict anyone as human only though.

 

As long as my eventual Qunari Inquisitor can romance Sera, I'm content. Alas, I'll have to wait and see.

Absolutely correct. If someone wants to complain about not getting something they would have liked, they're free to do so. If, however, they do so in a racist or blatantly sexist or homophobic manner, they'll be shown the door. And if they honestly think they're fomenting some kind of mass revolution, they'll undoubtedly be disappointed to discover just how much in the minority they actually are.
 
As for the "rage" regarding people discovering that a character on whom they'd already pinned their romantic hopes suddenly isn't available to them (either by way of gender or race, which are both possibilities in DAI) -- them's the breaks. One can either deal with their disappointment in an in-game manner (nothing like actually interacting with a character rather than thinking about them solely  in the abstract), they can play as a different PC (if romancing that one character is the most important thing to their game), or they can come to the forums and complain about how them not getting that option in the game is somehow a violation of their rights or part of a larger socio-political conspiracy. It won't get them anywhere, but so long as they do it politely and are considerate of other posters, they are certainly free to vent their frustrations.

I like to say that I appreciate this post and your willingness to wade in and take a stand on the matter.

But he's perfect for Cassandra. They can talk weapons, armor, killing technique, war, strategy...with all sort of innuendo.

 

Also, I'm sure Cassandra will find Blackwall romantic with his idealism.
