I guess there is no point to argue. To be honest, I don't really mind people who believe in such things. There is that endgame scene were you find Cullen praying. And you know, if he invinted me to join him I would do it, out of respect if anything else. My problem with Cassandra is that she believes too strongly about it. And there is an dialogue were you can say to Solas he is obssessed with the fade if his approval is low enough, and those are my feelings towards Cassandra regarding her and the Maker.

I will say one thing, if the Maker is indeed real, he or she is the most selfish uncaring bastard to have ever existed. So many atrocities done in their name, and then to do nothing about it? That's simply BS.

He's a deistic type of god. Not a theistic one. So not doing anything goes hand in hand with that. You're expecting him to be interventionist like the Christian god, but he never promised being that way from the start. :P

But yeah, selfish maybe. Not sure. He could be like a kid who wound up a toy and just likes it to spin and run it's course.

edit: For some reason, Leliana believes otherwise. That the Maker is theistic. But she almost has a different religion in some ways from the Chantry.

He has been through some stuff, and just want to relax with the person he loves.  ;)  :P

Did she become divine? Now that scene is hard to watch,(for me at least).

Yes, she was named Divine.  Dude, I'm not gonna lie, it broke my heart.  Part of me was hoping she would turn down the offer to stay with the Inquisitor, but I also feel that would have drastically weakened her integrity.  Her decision to accept the position confirmed for me that she truly does believe in and value everything she says she does - unwavering faith in the maker, duty and serving the people above personal happiness, etc.  So ultimately I feel it solidifies her character, but man it is painful too.

Since Gaider is gone, how do you think Cass' future will we affected? I suspect Divine Leliana supporters are going to be very pleased.

What does Divine Leliana have anything to do with Gaider and the writing of Cassandra in future installments?

If Gaider didn't give Weekes his intentions with Cass, then Weekes might create a very different Cass from the one we know. Imagine the difference between Awakening Anders and DA2 Anders. Also, considering the favoritism Weekes showed to Leliana and how Gaider opposed any kind of "perfect ending", I'd say DA is going in a different direction and Divine Leliana might be the best choice.

You've been desperately trying to convince people of that since before the writer change.

Now you're saying the different direction will result in it.

Hmm. K.

Did Weekes even write Leliana in in DA:I? I thought he wrote Cole, IB and the Warden subplot.

And considering that we're most likely moving away from Southern Thedas, I doubt we'll hear much more out of any of the divines (or any characters aside from Dorian and Solas) so we'll most likely not see the writers pulling an Anders on Cassandra.

And really, DA:I has already moved in quite a different direction than either 1 or 2, this game has pretty much gone away from having any pretense of being even slightly dark fantasy.

So if Weekes the lead writer, then logic dictates that the next Divine will be a character that he wrote.

So that means the next Divine will be... Iron Bull.

Sheryl Chee has always written Leliana. Weekes has nothing to do with her.

It was Patrick who wrote the AWrden subplot? does it mean he wrote Hawke? Because if it was him, he wrote one of the biggest plot hole in DAI, I still sore after the Cullen/Kirkwall's Templars/Red Lyrium debacle.

Who writes the dialogue for Dragon age protagonists anyway? I aways wondered about that.

I think every writer does, they write the dialogues the protagonist have with their characters and in their quest.

It just seemed kind of awkward to me, like they were lacking the level of intimacy I would expect them to have at that point.  It's mostly the Inquisitor and how he just stands there rather emotionless.  What happened to poetry man?

Good call on the sunset though.  I do appreciate that part more now having just watched the scene again.

I'm guessing you either ignored or somehow missed the other 3/4 of the romance if you think that's all there was.

Oh no, I don't expect her to change overnight, no. It took two games for Miranda and Jacob to drop Cerberus. My only frustration is that Cassandra never seem to give up on the Herald idea in particular after all the evidence given against it. I only fear is that might come an day were we are given undeniable proof that the Maker is no god, but an glorified figure similar to the elven gods, and even then Cassandra will not change at all. It's just that it frustrastes me greatly when I see someone be given evidence that what they previously believed is wrong, and yet they don't change their minds even then.

I don't think she ever claimed or believed that the Inquisitor was saved by Andraste herself but more by the Maker.  While it does seem like one big coincidence/dumb luck that the Inquisitor survived, the Maker could have been doing a behind the scenes sort of deal by helping out the Inquisitor with that dumb luck to survive the Conclave once he had the Mark to stop the Breach.

This is more or less the common idea between Andrastians who are friendly to the Inquisitor.

Besides, disregarding the existence of an entity like the Maker is unwise in this setting, considering every other supernatural facet that has been seen.

Also i'm sad to watch David Gaider leaving the DA team. But I wish him the best on that new project.

DAI 'Weakness' Cassandra

Just a great fanart I saw, meant to show Cassandra if her faith and desire to do the right thing turned to pure fanaticism and ruthlessness. Or perhaps simply her becoming callous and self-serving with her power.

Sorry if already posted.

I think Cole was already up his alley, so it wouldn't affect things. I mean, he's already explored similar issues with Tali/Geth. I think he likes all of these issues that subvert what the nature of life or reality is.

I'm more weary about other topics from Weekes. Just because I don't know what to expect.

I'm more worried about Morrigan, it's hard to imagine David not writing her.
