I don't remember much about TV in the 90s. I was a hell of a lot more social, outside then.. just remember the music. My car was stacked.... with cassette tapes ![]()

Perhaps I will tell you something about the 90s that you can relate to...Cartoons...Anyone here recall the good old days of Justice League Unlimited, Batman The Animated Series and the likes ? Now many of the cartoons around are quite frankly, Micheal Bay-esque shite with pointless explosions, and shallow stories....I mean Young Justice was one of the few good things on TV and they cancelled it in favor of that Teen Titans crap...
This is exactly the attitude I detest. Also, Justice League Unlimited was aired from 2004 to 2006. Hardly a 90's cartoon by any stretch. Also, Teen Titans was cancelled long before Young Justice was a blip on anyone's radar. Teen Titans was also a very highly reviewed show that is loved by many people.
So yes, my childhood shows and songs are far superior to the ones today...& kids these days do suck...Back in the 90s, you would see kids burying their heads in books being bookworms...Now many of them are narcissistic smartphone zombies....
It's laughable how wrong both of these statements are. Children of the 90's were every bit as annoying, petulant little pieces of sh*t that they are today. The only thing that's changed is the method by which people keep them satiated. It used to be sitting them in front of a TV to watch cartoons. Now it's the internet and YouTube. The garbage on YouTube is just as stupid and irritating as the garbage that was aired on TV (and still is).

If that's the case, then yes. That show is complete trash and the people who made it should be ashamed.

To be fair, if you're actually running into people on Tumblr, in their 30s, and just as angry about this..
Then.. well, ****.

It kinda is if they cancel a more superior one for a crappy version that I feel might make kids more stupid

I don't have any bias with cartoons. Lots of them in the 80s probably fried my brain too.
Along with the other shows. I mean, I watched Pee Wee's Playhouse for crissakes.

Not just "superior", it was one of Cartoon Network's highest-rated shows, and they pulled the plug with the TV movie. They did the same thing with Ben 10, only they managed to salvage Ben 10, and improve on the first series in many respects. Teen Titans GO! is just painfully unfunny and an eyesore to watch due to the Flash animation (and I say this as a fan of Flash animation).

I kind of have to agree about the smartphone thing. I mean all this selfie ****, and having to check their phones, every five minutes. As for 90s cartoons, most of the ones I liked were in the late 90s and early 2000's. The only early-90s ones that I liked were captain planet, beast-wars and arrgh real monsters. So yes, my childhood shows and songs are far superior to the ones today...& kids these days do suck...Back in the 90s, you would see kids burying their heads in books being bookworms...Now many of them are narcissistic smartphone zombies...
There are exceptions of course. I mean breadmax and ventus, are little snookie wookums.

Definitely out of touch here.. All the social media, broadcasting, and peacocking kids grow up with today. I don't know what to make of it. I had facebook for awhile, and canceled that years ago. I can't even connect with that.

Social media just shits me, it causes more problems than it's worth. I feel sorry for kids today who are bullied so badly online they kill themselves. I mean back in the day bullying was at the school yard, parties and that was it. :/Definitely out of touch here.. All the social media, broadcasting, and peacocking kids grow up with today. Maybe you''re right. It's more persistent. Back in the day, you might get hurt, but it passed.

Literally none of these things have to do with kids.
Drawing from anecdotal experience, not many people my age take selfies. The heavy majority of retards who take selfies are college graduates and people transitioning from "worthless idiot child" to adulthood after graduating. There were a lot of retards at my high school and plenty of people I hated, but they didn't take selfies (about the one thing I can give them credit for). Of all the people I know in my age range, I can count on one hand the number who do (and I wouldn't even need all 5 fingers).
Beast Wars was pretty good, but Captain Planet was so inconceivably stupid. There's a reason people make fun of it now.
If anything is wrong with people in my age range, it's the odd fixation on trash MTV.

I will shameless admit that people are on instagram all the time here, as well as snapchat. Smartphones are awesome, though, so I can deal.

The goverment should ban facebook like the PRC did..its toxic.Maybe you''re right. It's more persistent. Back in the day, you might get hurt, but it passed.
Beast wars was epic, they should re-do it with current gen graphics. Haha captain planet was, well...it is what it is. I only liked the guy who could talk to animals. The rest..meh..Literally none of these things have to do with kids.

The worst thing about Instagram are the people who think they're photographers because they can take a picture and put a sepia filter on it. Snapchat isn't as annoying and self-indulging though. Its problem is mostly just people who think they're witty when they put comments with the pictures.

In name only. It's about as much "music television" as Starbucks is "real" coffee.

I dont understand the appeal of either of those things, tbh. As for Smart phones they are electricity bill wasters. zmy old mobile phone could last over a week without needing to be recharged. I only take my smart phone to job interviews now, and use my old phone for everything else.

I don't have one though.. Or any mobile. I might as well live in freaking Greenland and build a cabin. ![]()

They're better for texting than a phone with a standard keyboard, and they're good for web browsing. My iPhone 6 Plus can go a good 3 days without needing a recharge if I don't go out of my way to drain the battery with prolonged use, and if I don't keep 90 apps running in the background.
I would much rather have a smart phone than another kind of cell phone. Whenever I'm not on my computer, I'm more than likely streaming a video or reading an article online on my phone. Some of the more recent smart phones also double as e-books if you get the right apps.

I could probably use it for ebooking.. the screens on the basic ebooks I like more though (e-paper or whatever it's called). Kind of the same deal with a tablet I have.
