My guess is Kirkwall like Hawke said in DAI

Edit: Ninja'd lol

Didn't someone at Bioware once said that keeping Merrill's mirror might be a bad idea?

I didn't know that. I thought it was an interesting choice.. never was sure which way to go.

Kind of weird they barely addessed Eluvian much in DAI. Especially coming off of MAsked Empire. I was sure it'd be a big part of the Civil War, but nope. lol

I imagine some glorified Templar March through the ranks of the Malificar

After that's done, Orlais takes over Thedas with Gaspard at the helm and Cassandra at his side. Lambert turns out to be not dead, and seeks out any remaining mage to purge their wickedness away.

Everyone's Andrastian and Elves are being systematically wiped out.

Fin.

Yeah, one of the things I wished was done better was the Orlesian civil war arc. That definitely should've been more than just one mission at the Winter's Palace

Both Civil War and Mage/Templars were great ideas, and great setup... but I don't like how either were executed here.

I have to wonder if Bioware had a better, more in depth story for these things, or if this was really how they wanted to conclude it. Both subjects fueled more debates here than anything.. I think a lot were looking forward to this.

I liked the Mage/Templar war the way it was, considering they just came from a peace summit that went wrong

I'd scrap the peace summit completely. If it was up to me (obviously it wasn't). And make it more about working one's way towards that.

The peace summit was also necessary because reforming the Inquisition was a last resort if that fails

While that is entertaining it isn't what I wanted.

I what I wanted was a actual game set around the plot points established, not one that had them in the background if even that.

What I wanted was the conclusion of the story that was being told in a game and two books.

Not one that forces it all aside on some inane superficial threat.

I suppose I wanted Bioware to actually follow up.

I just wish we had a chance to interact with people at the peace summit.

That's true.

If that's the case, I'd prefer it falling apart for more mundane, human reasons. And then the Inquisition steps in to put a boot up everyone's ass. And that would be the fun of it. The Inquisitor would actually "inquisit" for awhile. And actually telling a story how the Inquisitor becomes the Inquisitor would be fun.. rather than handing all the power for supernatural reasons.

Perhaps you could still have Cory, but I think it could've waited. The military and political issues of Civil  War and Mage/Templar are more interesting when handled in an mundane sense.

I wish the story hadn't even started there.

Why be in the background of a conflict when you can be present.

That's my only complaint in-regards to the peace summit/ Intro in-general. I would've loved to have that part be playable

You just want a chance to mock Cory for his taste in footwear

Wait... what? We were already present in the conflict....

Yeah, I already disliked that sort of beginning from ME3. And they repeated it here. Thrust into action.

Are you deliberately misconstruing my intent?

There was no presence in either faction, there wasn't any motivation to care, this encompassing war was little more than background noise.

The only reason I play a mage is I feel more connected to these plots, in some subconscious way. It makes up for lack of mage/templar issues.

Story telling is suppose to pull you in at the beginning. A slow beginning would had been bad for everyone. Most of Bioware games have a engaging action prolog.

Sorry if I got too snarky. I found Corypheus a bit inane as well.

I never really hated him, I never really feared him, I never really felt him much at all.

And Mass Effect

I really enjoyed the original beginning because it inserted you into the universe to acclimate.

Well yea. The Breach was the bigger factor, and we just needed the Templars/Mages to help with that situation.
