But it isn't about the looks. Hasn't anyone ever told you that only the inner values count? Cass sees beyond the face, right into his heart and soul...
Anyone who says they're only interested in personality and doesn't care about looks is either lying or blind. Nobody is that kind or thoughtful. That said--
Makes no difference to me... A good game is a good game.
This. I don't particularly care if it's a JRPG, a Western RPG, an FPS, MOBA, or any genre. If a game is good, a game is good. The whole "true RPG" thing I've seen here on these boards needs to die.

TBH, I think it would have made more sense for Cassandra to be race gated to humans. Considering her upbringing, I just don't see her showing interest in non humans.

Then you don't know Cassandra. She hated her upbringing. And she isn't bias, she accepts people that shares a different faith than her own.

What about her upbringing would have anything to do with her preferences?

Apart from the fact that she was raised in an family and society that are not very tolerant toward such relations? Bang into a kid's mind enough times, and they will start believing that getting involved with certain kinds of people is morally wrong.

She also said if she followed her upbringing she would be a wife with lots of kids right now, soooo....

They clearly haven't banged hard enough, as her family's mindset never took root.
Well, funny, an couple of priests told her to believe in the maker despite their lack of proof, and yet she believed. I guess it's an lack of consistency.

... Or it's because she chose to believe

Cass loathes her upbringing, her family save for Anthony and her uncle are total strangers to her and she calls the Nevarran noble way of life a "golden cage" she wanted to go away from at the tender age of six.

How can one choose to believe in something they don't even know it's real? Religion is not an choice made by people, it's an choice made for them.

The Pentaghast family =\= The Chantry.
And even then, Cassandra doesn't blindly support their system.

She also actively detested her family and didn't follow what they said by her own principles. The only member of her family she liked was her brother. Cassandra isn't an idiot to be molded by the Pentaghasts.

With faith. That's literally the definition of the word. The entire foundation for all religions in the world is some kind of faith.
Religion is not an choice made by people, it's an choice made for them.
What? Is most certainly IS a choice made by people. Using myself as an example, I was born a Christian and baptized. I am now a staunch atheist. The closest I get to any religion now is studying their code of morals to see if they're worth following. I choose to not place any merit in the idea of a supreme deity.

I don't think her family matters.
I just think Adaar is a sign of bad taste in players themselves. It has nothing to do with Cassandra. She isn't real. But players are. And the fact that players want to fondle some hot video game chick with a video game horned gorilla speaks more about them than anything else.
I might think it's cool if they at least looked as good as their female counterparts. So I'll blame the artists too. Not just people with bad taste.

I'm talking about people who stay religious. You are another story. Honestly, how many people out there believe in it by their own choice, rather then because their family and local church told them that they should believe?
