Shady organization with grey morals that conduct morally dubius experiments is more than a certain in the next ME

That I don't mind.

I'd just rather not have Reapers brought into it. That crap just ruins all of the other interesting conflict in the setting.. the politics and alien relationships. It just becomes more standard Bioware fare.... everyone puts aside differences and unites against the Big Bad.

Star Wars has more political depth than that. And it's made for kids.

Is that a fact from Bioware?

And I would much rather have the opposing forces in the story be the actual goverments and their intelligence agencies than some stupid bond villain organization that overshadows everyone.

It's practically a given at this point (more so in DA than ME, I'd say). They've been doing it since the first ME, back in 2007. There's Cerberus, the Templars, The Seekers, the Chantry, Tevinter, and the Wardens.

I think DA handles this much better. Templars and mages both have their good and bad sides. Templars aren't the bad guys.

I only wish they delved into the poltical intricacies more there too.

None of the morally grey groups in DA are really bad guys, though the bad apples in the group are REALLY bad.

Also, the Chantry. I don't know how I forgot about them, but the Chantry is the greyest one of them all, because of their sheer size and scope. They censor history that they don't like, and they keep their own personal army leashed at arm's length with a highly addictive drug that is potentially fatal if withdrawn. On the other hand, the faith they provide gives the common folk hope, and there are a lot of genuinely good people affiliated with the Chantry.

I hope you're wrong.

Anyway, ME1 didn't really do it. Cerberus was in that game yeah, but they were just some group of mooks you faced in a side quest.

Cerberus in ME1 reminded me of Aliens corporations. But I also associate them with the Thorian missions as well. Where Exogeni was working with them... or operating as it's proxy. It wasn't just the side missions.

Its not only Cerberus. We had Exogeni in Feros, the entire planet of Noveria, several side missions were experiments went wrong, etc...

Nah, we're like unicorns. :P

with energy beams?

I pre-ordered my copy from Amazon a while back. I can't wait. Between reading that and playing MKX, I'm going to need a lot of free time.

any chane u will share scans of Cass?

It's like in real life: if a woman isn't overly girly and dresses in exaggeratedly feminine and frilly clothing, with hip-length hair and a ton of make up, then she's a butch, manly lesbian. Or, at the very least, bisexual. It doesn't matter if they tell you to your face that they're only interested in men and have no interest in women, they're either lesbian or bi.

it annoys the **** out of me. I know women with short hair who are really nice, married and have children.

The sterotype has to go. Having short hair, some muslce, that does not mean a woman wants to clean carpets. If they want the D, that shouldn't make them weird.

Cass wants the D, and people need to accept thats a part of who she is, and move on.

Er, how is that first sentence incompatible with being lesbian?

We were talking about societies sterotype, of women with short hair. and along with that sterotype goes the fact that they don't marry guys and have kids. Gay marrige is illegal here, therfore people in general do not equate lesbians with being married and having kids. Its looked down upon, and that is just how it is.

Once again, your head, the point, swoosh.

The stereotype is that short haired women are *****es, I.E. she said she knows some that are nice.

The other is that they're lesbians. Lesbians usually don't have kids of their own, that I've seen. I hear about the artificial insemination or adoption, I've never actually seen a couple doing this however. Most common people don't associate kids with lesbian couples.

The same goes for marriage, as even in places where it's allowed, it's not common. People generally don't associate marriage with lesbians, hence the stereotype that short haired women aren't married.

Aus.
I don't care whether it is illegal or not, there are valid reasons for both sides of the argument. People here still for the most part regard it as immoral, and they are entitled to that opinion. Australia is not America, we don't have free speech in the constitution, so people are far more conservative.

I'm sure some straight people might not, but I can imagine that some gay members of this community might find it odd to see a sentence that uses marriage as though it's exclusive from being lesbian. I know that wasn't AWTEW's intent, but I can see how that would come across as odd to some people at first glance, which is the entire point as to why Xil expressed confusion about it.

This thread was originated by a woman who was interested in romancing Cassandra with her female Inquisitor, and you made a retort to a woman who romances women with her protagonists; I think their perspective on the matter may differ significantly from yours.

I consider the large corporation a different kind of enemy compared to what Cerberus was, and I really don't mind corporations as obstacles as long as they don't dominate the story.

Please, unless they live under a rock and associate only with gays, I highly doubt the concept is new.

And the op is irrelevant, so whatever. And for the rest, see the first sentence. I'm to believe that people live under a rock like patrick from spongebob? If that is the case then they're deserving of all the snark I can give. But I highly doubt anyone's that dense.

No, the purpose of that remark to AWTEW was to put her in check because of the fact that she didn't associate marriage with lesbians. Not because she genuinely misunderstood. Don't bs me.

I don't think gay members of the community would associate a married woman with exclusively being straight or having children. If you're under the impression that Xil would share your preconceptions about marriage or being a parent to children, I'd say it's quite likely that you're mistaken.

You're way off base if you think everyone necessarily has the same views as you when it comes to certain social norms.

To be frank, there's no reason to associate being being straight with being married and having children as though it's exclusive from being gay.

Ok, first of all, it doesn't really matter because the topic was about stereotypes. Stereotypes, not how you actually associate things.

Second, considering that most people married are straight, I beg to differ.

Third, you only came in here to talk about gays and blah, and as such, you can finish talking to the wall. We go off topic sometimes, but I am not letting you distract the thread with your agenda spreading crap, so consider this The End.
