So I heard you guys were looking for Cassandra in a dress.

I am fangirling so hard over the this dress.  I want this dress.  I want Cass to wear this dress.  I want my Inquisitor and Cass to go out wearing amazing dresses and be awesome together.  I don't care now if she's a femLI or not.  I JUST WANT THIS DRESS AND HER TO WEAR IT.

(actually, I still want her to be a femLI...)

'Her duty is not absolute and perhaps neither is her faith.'

Wonder if there's going to be anything akin to hardening. Nudge her further away from faith or reaffirming it?

The sentence that follow that line is "Having doubt need not make either of those things weaker, however, and that's the path that Cassandra has to now walk."  This suggest a change in perception more than losing faith (in which case it would become weaker).

Hmm maybe i'm reading too much into it because i like of aspects like hardening.

Doubt to me(Losing complete certainty) would entail a sense of weakening. Guess maybe they are implying that other concerns can now trump(faith/duty).

Suppose that change could play into her romance arc, .

From the character profile: "Cassandra does what she believes is right and just, and holds those values as more important than things like law or duty."

I think the "faith" thing is more about wondering why the Maker would let these things happens, not doubting that he exist. We are talking about someone who said "That is for the Maker to decide" before jumping of a cliff after her pursuer said she wouldn't survive the fall...

For all the talk about "race gating", I wonder if religion gating could be on the table? Being a devout Andrastian, would Cassandra be open to forming a romantic entanglement with an atheist Inquisitor? Agnostic? Someone who follows the Qun?

The race-gating seems to mostly be an issue of cinematics budget.  I doubt the writers are just adding in more restrictions for the hell of it.

That said, if you're constantly disagreeing with Cass on issues of religion, I expect it will be treated as any other disagreement in the game--possibly lowering her approval, which could indeed lock you out of a romance with her depending on how romance and approval are actually linked this time.

That was a convoluted sentence, I apologize.

I get that her belief in 'right & just' is why she no longer holds her duty(as a seeker) to be absolute when it conflicts with this.

I still think the 'perhaps neither is her faith' is first time doubts about maker's existence. Many people of faith live with doubts, unless they grow to stage where they outweigh belief its not an issue. i'd actually argue utter certainty is a rather dangerous thing.

I know they're not doing it just to spite people, don't worry.

I was just thinking in a hypothetical scenario, not even necessarily it being something featured in-game, would she be open to it? After all, people tend to form relationships with likeminded people, romantic or otherwise. That's not to say you can't be friends or lovers with someone you disagree with about religion, but it could still be an issue. Depends on Cassandra and the Inquisitor and how strongly they feel about it.

Thought this was official at first, like a confirmation there would be a ball and dress up. Great job.

I'm pretty sure the dev said the romance require positive approvals to happens, but they don't have romance content gated by approval level, it's event based from what I understand (aka more like ME).  I don't see Cassandra having problem with none-Andrastian, she didn't come off as a religious bigot to me so far. Her faith seems to be quite personal in a way. Goes with keep her passions secret in her heart I guess.

There is confirmation of two balls already: one thrown by Vivienne for the Inquisition (sound like her recruitment quest too) and another one later that is Orlesian Civil War plot related. I expect having to dress-up for both...

That's the first I've heard of that. Sounds great.

I thought the one Vivienne was holding was the same as the Orlesian Civil War one.

well, going by what we know from DA2 she seems to find one on one duels to be romantic (at least for male hawke)

Maybe she likes reading about love triangles and such, with two men/women fighting for a man/woman's affections.

Maybe she likes provings too, would be fun to see her reactions if the inquisitor stepped in to fight in a proving (in order to gain the respect/help of the dwarves)

Would you mind putting spoilers, especially those not related to Cassandra, in spoiler boxes?

Doubtful. Firstly that we could be athiest or qunari, and secondly that expression of religious approval is needed.

I do think its gonna be something we probably won't expect at all. I would love it if the theory that she is into naughty books is true. I could also definitely see her swoon at the thought of the Inquisitor doing something brave for either her or the innocent.

Sounds like she'll fall in love with my Robin Hood-like Inquisitor in no time ^_^

I'm pretty sure she finds the duel with the Arishock romantic with a Lady Hawke too.

She does. It's the action/setup she finds romantic: defeating the Arishok in single combat.

She probably read fantasy novels or what ever fantasy novels are called in a fantasy setting. You know the type: the ones where the hero(ine) save the girl/boy/world/people. She also idealized her dead brother. Wouldn't surprise me if she entertained the though of a Prince(ss) Charming at this point, although she's really far away from being a damsel in distress.

If there was collectible cards in Thedas, she probably would have the entire Legendary Heroes set...that she hides under her pillow.

I hope we can dance with her at the ball. I imagine she'd be really good, considering her royal upbringing.

Every mistake results in stepping on her toes until she finally storms off in frustration.
