LTTP: I don't focus on the details of the lore here about Chantry lay sister clothes. Maybe there's something to be said about it.
I just look at the writer and intent.... what's the overall motivation for choosing to present Bull that way. Just to do it for the sake of it? Usually writers don't just insert things for the sake of it. Unless they suck. All of them know how to play with symbolism. And that's why I jump to my conclusions. Symbolism. And I think Weekes is kind of iconoclastic in general.

She would be their enemy for being a Dragon slayer
Not only does she kill them but she punches them in the face first.

Despite all symbolism, copies of the game must be sold and the audience isn't only made up of intellectuals. A cool womanizing Qunari sells, that's a pretty straightforward approach. Or do you also see symbolism in tavern girls being such poor scum that somebody telling them "that their ****** look nice" is the best thing that can happen to them and that even outweighs the situation around them? Or him, who believes in the Qun, going on and on about Cassandra's skills as a warrior, when Sten told us that the Qun does not even accept women in fighting positions?

Yes it does, because the respective example never should have happened in the first place.
Just because you can make some characters idiots and go completely against the lore without being representations of the rest of a group....
Doesn't mean you should. It's poor storytelling and friggin stupid.

I know it sells. If anything, I'm kind of realizing how much I don't factor into that.... the sales. I got attached to the franchise in my own way, and was happy to contribute to the sales.. but I think my money doesn't matter anymore. They can make up for it just fine.

We have a black president, I'm biracial, there's lots of biracial men and women here, and America is still racist as hell and always will be. These examples are meaningless.
Yes it does, because the respective example never should have happened in the first place.
Wait, you are saying the black president, you being biracial, and other biracial people should not have happened? I fear we must stop here, I am sure this is the sort of political topic the mod just asked us not to go into. I don't think I want to either.

I do get where you are coming from. But you did enjoy the characters after all. Don't you think you can just ignore a few selling points? Like I really don't like Bull's personal quest (and a few other issues about him). But I just ignore how little sense it makes to me. There are other parts I enjoy a lot. Making compromises, basically.

? Lol no. I only brought that up to show it doesn't mean anything. It doesn't suddenly make all weird occasions in the story ok. You missed the point.
Stating things that are not normal in other instances doesn't mean that all of them are the same in every scenario. It doesn't make this any less stupid.

I really don't know. I'm still curious where DA goes from here. But yet, I feel like it'd be better if I let go. I have less and less in common with the themes or what the fanbase wants in general. It's that realization when you know you're in the wrong place. Kind of getting that.

I think Bee is just pointing out the facts. He might be mixed (as am I), but that shouldn't prevent him from seeing the truth. "Men's hearts hold shadows darker than any tainted creature." Heh..

These kind of discussions never would have made it on the bethsoft forums. I guarantee pretty much everyone in this thread would have been permabanned in a week if they acted the way they do here.

Give me a break. The writers of that game encourage racial conflict more than anything. The whole mythos revolves around it. Ever read Michael Kirkbride?

I'm not going to say, "Tell em where you from," in a serious debate. That's where passive-aggressiveness comes in.

All those debates about high elves and Stormcloaks makes me have serious doubts.

You obviously haven't been on the bethsoft forums. There, political comments are removed in minutes and you are temp suspended for days for your first offense. Unlike the mods here, the bethsoft forum mods actually do their job and do their jobs strictly. For instance, you only get 4 warnings and then you are permabanned.
That pretty much ensures that unlike here, there are no harsh insults or rage on the level of the average BSN'er. Also helps that all threads are automatically locked after 7 pages which helps get rid of some animosity. At least there, the people are likeable and make sense. People there actually back up their arguments with facts and not random emotions.
If you don't believe me, ask ColonelKillaBee. He and I are also friends on the bethsoft forums until he got permabanned. He knows how life there was.

I've been there, but not in a few years. Maybe it got worse.
Other than that, why are you such a ninny.. "superdarkone" and "thats1evildude". You're like two peas in a pod. You really like moderation. You have these dark sounding names, but the sensibility of a grandma.
