I've been there, but not in a few years. Maybe it got worse.

Other than that, why are you such a ninny.. "superdarkone" and "thats1evildude". You're like two peas in a pod. You really like moderation. You have these dark sounding names, but the sensibility of a grandma.

*snort* Ahmm, sorry.  ;)

Why did you take the bait?

Is that what it is? I'm happy he's got that kind of sense of humor then.

? Lol no. I only brought that up to show it doesn't mean anything. It doesn't suddenly make all weird occasions in the story ok. You missed the point.

Stating things that are not normal in other instances doesn't mean that all of them are the same in every scenario. It doesn't make this any less stupid.

No, I rather think you missed my point, which is simply: sometimes we do have exceptions in life. They exist and these sisters may just belong to them. Like Cass is an exception for being the sort of woman she is, like Sera is an exception of being this grown up child, like Dorian is an exception for opposing Tevinter etc. There's no whole bunch of Dorians or Seras, neither in Thedas nor in the real world. But sometimes individuals just do break the rules.

And of course they do not make "all weird occasions in the story ok". The whole issue around Bull is buggy. His weird reaction to the personal quest most of all. "Kill the Chargers, stick to the Qun!" -- "Ok boss, that's cool" (Bull approves); "Save the chargers, damn the Qun!" -- "Ok boss, that's cool!" (Bull approves). I don't like that, just as little as I like making the decision for him etc. etc. But that does not mean I don't accept the basic idea that sometimes there are exceptions.

I just don't think the BW writers dislike the church or religion so much that they try to show this by bashing the Chantry. That's where I am coming from here. Unless you disagree, which you may of course.

Sometimes, yes, but for Bioware this isn't sometimes, hence the Mary Sues, and it's also not an exception that was done for good reason. Just to get the point across that the joke character is a horndog, and they had to use the chantry women to do it, which just puts a bad taste in my mouth. If there was a chantry woman or two doing this as a part of a story, that'd be one thing. But nay, it was just a joke for adolescent boys.

If you don't believe me, ask ColonelKillaBee. He and I are also friends on the bethsoft forums until he got permabanned. He knows how life there was.

Unfortunately this is very true. He's heard of MK, Street, and MK actually either deleted his profile or was banned himself believe it or not, for being fed up with the boards. It's like a catholic school there. All because the boards are technically rated T-M. Instead of just for adults.

 Sure it was. And I like this just as little as many other things about the writing of Bull. But that I don't like it and that it was introduced only for a few laughs simply doesn't mean that theoretically such exceptions could exist. And that I just don't want Magic to think BioWare was trying to disgrace the church/religion. Because I really don't think that's their intention.

Unintentional slights are still offensive, though that for me isn't the issue, just the complete and total disregard here for lore. Just for a stupid joke.

Anyway, convo's ran its course. Well, it did a while ago, lol but that's my pov and why I agree with street that this was stupid. As is Bull in general really. Riding that 50 shades of grey hype I guess.

Well at least these boards aren't quite the creeping rot infested cesspool that is the Nation states forum.

Goodness...I'm amazed I bothered staying nearly a year.

Hell no, Cass does the dirty work herself. ;)

I thought I did the dirty work? So all of that smut I wrote was for nothing? Well, I guess I'm not doing that again.

Have a Cass!

Not really for me either, but I have to keep it PG in here. I'm already on thin ice as it is with 6 warning points.

I don't even know how the warning points work, I just know that I have 6. My last temp ban (2 days) was for "insulting multiple users", even though in the thread I "insulted" those people in, the offending post wasn't directed to anyone (nor was it an actual insult). The mods need to update the site rules for offensive posts and to explain how warning points actually work. Whenever one of my posts is deleted or I get a point, I go to look at the rules to see which one I broke, and at least half the time whatever it is I did either isn't against any rules or flat-out isn't mentioned IN the rules in any capacity.

My last ban I think was for three days. What gives. Ugh.

And for making up fake swear words that combined pussycat with assimilate, pacify and adding sification to the end. Stupid.

It doesn't help that the mods seem to just pick and choose who to ban and who to issue points to. I see someone go on an angry, swear-laden rant about how awful Bioware is and how DAI is such a trash game and it goes on for 30+ pages and stays on the first page for a good week or so before its taken down. I go into the off-topic section to post a news article or an interesting video and my entire thread is deleted within the first day and gets 2 whole pages.

The Empire will fall whether it does or not *nods in agreement*

The only smart thing to do is make sure Skyrim isn't standing under it when it crumbles. Just gonna put it out there, Cassandra would be a Stormcloak ;)

::ducks and covers::

I could see her join either.

At first, Cassandra remains loyal to the Divine. But when she dies, she defies the Chantry and establishes the Inquisition.

Therefore, we have precedent for both sides.

Ultimately, she would probably join whoever she felt had a better chance of protecting people from the Thalmor which is the Stormcloaks.

I'll take this challenge.

She roots for Gaspard, the military rebel leader fighting a civil war against the current emperor because he's not for all that silly orlesian ball bull**** and the Game

She's a devout religious warrior, dedicated to the Maker and the Andrastian faith. Imagine if she were told to not openly worship the maker, and that she had to hide it. Not only that, but arrest and give up others to... say, the Qunari, all because her leadership got cold feet and decided to accept terms of surrender disguised as a peace treaty....

Yea no, Cassandra Pentaghast is a Stormcloak through and through ;)

I was totally with you, right up until here:

But discussing why might make the derailment level perilously high. Agree to disagree.  :)

Hmm. At the end of the day, I think it would depend on where she was born and how she was raised. She did turn against the acting chantry authority, but she didn't regard any of them as the true authority. Cassandra believes in authority. I have a hard time picturing her favoring divisive rebels whose goal is to actually split away. She was a divisive rebel in DAI, but her goal went in the other direction. She ultimately wanted unity.

I can agree the sky is blue too. Doesn't change the fact that 1. The Nords don't have to serve the Empire to help fight the Thalmor and 2. They gain absolutely nothing for staying. The Imperial supporters aren't even getting money or support. The Empire's using up Solitude's money, men and all resources to fight Ulfric with nothing but glorified I owe U's to compensate for it.

Well, the Empire's been abandoning Provinces like cheap french whores since the days of Oblivion. Morrowind, Hammerfell, they both hate the Empire for this reason and Orsinium isn't even on the map because of this. You tell me how much they want unity.

What they want is to use provinces until their usefulness is gone. I think Cassandra would be smart enough to see that.
