I don't think a ruthless templar-lover would fit for any of the romances in this game, to be honest.
Some would be alright with it, I guess. Male or female? Sera, Bull, Cullen, Blackwall, Josie (might accept it if in love). I think those could handle ruthless and Templar, to different degrees of course.
She might have. Their relationship isn't really explored in any depth. They kiss in Dawn of the Seeker, and Cassandra mentions him in DAI, but she doesn't talk about what they did. Given that Cassandra is romantic (and that their relationship was brief and fleeting), she actually may not have slept with him (though she probably has, I'm just pointing out the possibility that she didn't). She says to the Inquisitor that she wants a man to court her, to "sweep her off her feet". Regalyan didn't exactly do that.
They both likely considered their relationship as important and serious, but I don't think they were together long enough to say for sure. Again, the only timeframe there is to work with is Dawn of the Seeker and some of Cassandra's comments made in banter and conversation.
I don't think a ruthless templar-lover would fit for any of the romances in this game, to be honest. Cassandra is Lawful Good, with a smattering of Lawful Neutral thrown in. She is very compassionate to "good" people and only wishes to do good by herself and the Chantry. She's not afraid to get violent with people who make her angry, but that's really only ever directed at villains (and Varric). She has the same opinion of templars as she does everyone else: she acknowledges that there are some corrupt templars in their hierarchy, but that most of them are good people with good intentions. Dorian is similar, he wants to improve the image of Tevinter in the eyes of the rest of Thedas, and to improve Tevinter itself (which is why he hates Corypheus so much). He's loaded with sarcasm, but he has a good heart and gets along with people. Being a mage, he certainly isn't a fan of templars.
This raises the question how someone who is chatic neutral and Cas Cas would get along?

I think a ruthless templar-lover would do alright with Cassandra, he would need some common ground with her and being pro-templar gives you a lot of approval with her.
For example, my Inquisitor always supported the Chantry, believed he was the Herald of Andraste and wanted to restore Order because of this. he receveid a lot of approval, but his ambitious side like disbanding the templars, making the truce in Halamshiral and others more self-centered choices received her disapproval. By the end of the game I had max approval with Cass anyway.

I wouldn't use approval as a good metric here. She also tells you to let Morrigan drink from the Well, and she greatly disapproves if Morrigan actually does.
"Ruthless templar lover" doesn't work because of the "ruthless", not the templar angle.

She's so conflicted lol
She's so conflicted lol
Which is why she is awesome.

Typical woman. Tells you to do one thing and then changes her mind and gets mad when you do it. *scoff*
This is a joke, since I know at least one of you is really sensitive and has never been told a joke before

Cassandra: You should let Morrigan drink from the well
*Inquisitor lets Morrigan do it*
Cassandra: I DIDN'T ACTUALLY MEAN IT
I think you can think of an action as being better then another action and yet still disapprove of it. I do not think she liked the entire situation. Which is funny though because she is the one that convinced Ben to not drink.
If that were the case then she'd have some opinion on the Inquisitor drinking too, but she neither approves nor disapproves if they do it.
In either case, I'm sure the Inquisitor just shrugs it off, since he knows that he and Cassandra will probably just end up f***ing their disagreements out of the way later.

No she'll have you sleep on the couch tonite ![]()
That's not what she did after Adamant...

And thus the hole in my logic. And I knew it to.
Wouldn't it be funny if Mythal decided to pay good on her geas during said...romantic entanglement. ![]()

Until Cassandra remembers that there are no couches in Skyhold.

DUN DUN DUN.

The Inquisitor considers foiling Cassandra's plan payback for all those times they do this:

and Cassandra says "I'm cold" before backing into the Inquisitor while he's laying down, making him uncomfortable and giving him a awkward b***r.

Is that your staff or are you just happy to see me?
...why would I take my staff to bed and why would it be down *there*
*purr*
Don't know if its been asked but how does everyone think Cass would do in the world of the Walking Dead?
You know what Skyhold needs to be complete? A hut tub, like in the Citadel DLC. Shepard gets to hang out with Miranda in his own hot tub, the Inquisitor should be able to be with Cassandra in one.
Everybody deserves a hot tub.
