Additionally, and rarely realized by those outside of the romance audience, plenty of romance novels have no sexual content at all.

Lies and slander.

I have to wonder, why isn't Cassandra interested in leading the Inquisition?

She's too brash and often acts without thinking.

Well, that's how her peers perceive her. It doesn't necessary mean Cassandra considers those flaws too great.

And she agrees with them.

Cassandra merely acknowledged the existence of that flaw.

It tells us little of how negative she believes it is, or whether she considers it a great obstacle to leadership.

Or were you referring to another instance aside from the dialogue at Haven?

She acknowledges its existence by agreeing with it. She knows that it prevents her from being a good leader. Someone who is prone to act on impulse and without thinking is not fit to lead a paramilitary organization like the Inquisition. That, plus she hates bureaucracy and dealing with bureaucrats, because they spend too much time complaining (according to her).

The Inquisitor isn't just a military leader, but also a figurehead and politician when they need to be.

She is willing to become Divine, though.

I think Cassandra would've been fine.

And would've avoided all the problems that come with the Herald thing (or probably will come). It'd be a political and military office for her, and not some Messianic one.

If she wants to believe she can't, fine... but I think my Inquisitor believes in her.. And there's a helluva more to her than being some brash warrior. She's thoughtful and compassionate, and the most devout Chantry character we've ever had on a team (and by Chantry, I mean the actual Chantry. Leliana always had her own ideas).

Lies and slander.

I could name you several romance novels that lack sexual content because they feature devoutly religious characters, as opposed to premarital sex as they are to inventive dialogue.

I could name you several more that lack it because they take place in the regency era, in a devoutly religious societal setting where...

Wait. No, I can't.

Smoke bomb!

Well, you see... Yaoi is primarily focused on erotic involvement between male characters.

Such a thing does not occur in your typical romance novel, which are usually exclusively focused on the emotional tumult of the female heroine.

Additionally, and rarely realized by those outside of the romance audience, plenty of romance novels have no sexual content at all.

Or so I've heard.

Oh, I thought they were all kind of racy. But in a R rated way... not anything too out there.

Well, good to know :P

edit: I'm talking about the ones with Fabio on the cover btw. Not Jane Austen.

I can safely say that I have never read a novel with Fabio on the cover.

I remember Varric saying in DA2 that he isn't into humans....? But I have no idea whether or not you can flirt with him as a male. I do kind of agree. if there is anyone out there that could remotely equal his feelings for Bianca, it would be Hawke.

Well, Gaider did admit that they'almost' slipped something in there..If they had more development time...* le-sigh*

Varric says he's not into humans, yeah. However I agree - Hawke is/was the only person who could have made him forget about Bianca. *stares into the sunset, bitter tears flowing down the cheeks*

Let me join you in crying bitter tears.

Oh, c'mon. It's fine if you enjoy crack stuff but admit that's what it is.

I don't see it as crack. I was in the DBZ fandom for a long time, and V/C doesn't come even close to Weird monkey tail..between SS4 GOku and piccolo...

One would think that Namekians being asexual would throw a bit of a monkey wrench into that idea.

One would also think that Majin Buu having a wife (and spawning the entire Majin race in the process) would throw a bit of a monkey wrench into that idea.

I'd have been more surprised by your romance featuring anything besides sexual content, actually. Lol.

Oh, I thought they were all kind of racy. But in a R rated way... not anything too out there.

Right, the ones with Fabio on the cover probably have sexual content.

But that's the funny thing. The generalizations of any genre become an overly prevalent in their image. Especially if that genre has the unfortunate burden of being famously targeted at women. That's several strikes against the genre's reputation right there.
