Well the Jack and Miranda situation is unique in that they both want the same man o.o

Miranda > Jack, all day, err' day. Though I do like Jack just as well, I just wouldn't romance her. I think her students in ME3 are a better mellow for her than Shepard is.

Even if in some bizarro universe where Varric and Cassandra become friends, there's still his thing with Bianca and his lack of attraction to humans to work through. I still haven't seen any explanations for these.

I looked at the thread to see where people were getting this, and it seems to amount to them both being alive, Andrastian (sort of), and not seething in murderous rage most of the time. And Cass likes his books. I like GRRM's books, but I don't want to nail him.

I'm going back to my "bored out of their minds" theory. Also the comparison I'd make isn't so much Fenders as the people who insisted Morrigan and Alistair had "sexual tension" until Gaider told them they had no such thing.

It's either that they're bored or that they're dumb and think they know effective storytelling.

Well, people entertain themselves as they will. There's nothing wrong with it, if you just see it as non-canon AU and a lark. Not what I like in fanfiction or fan art- illogical pairings just make me cringe- but whatever give them the jollies.

You're right. So long as it isn't actually hurting anyone, they and everyone else are free to do or believe in whatever.

 

I haven't seen any fan pairing that wasn't completely stupid though. Whether it's Cassandra/Varric, Fenris/Anders, Goku/Piccolo, Sam/Dean, Hermione/Voldemort... Literally every single one I've come across was illogical nonsense. I'm sure there are ones that are decent, maybe even good, but I haven't seen them.

No, but I'm not surprised it exists. If there's Lara Croft (specifically the reboot Lara Croft) and Ellie from TLoU, I'm sure there's TMNT-cest. Then again I also know there's Shepard (FemShep, specifically) and FemHawke, Grunt and and Javik, and Leliana and Schmooples (as in, her pet nug).
