I'm not a fan of the Starks. Too honourable for their own good in a world without honour. But I do like Sansa quite a bit.

Err, not really, though Daredevil is by far the most widely known.

 

Calamity has prosthetic legs which give him enhanced speed and strength. This doesn't really count as "handicap as a power" (but then neither really does Daredevil's super senses), but Barbara Gordon was shot in the spine and crippled by the Joker, prompting her to give up the mantle as Batgirl and become Oracle. During her time as Oracle, she effectively became the Shadow Broker of the DCU, and founded the Birds of Prey. She's done far more while confined to a wheelchair than she ever did while wearing the mask.

I got a laugh out of this, so I guess it was worth splitting up this quote needlessly to talk about what a crock it all is.


I'll simply cite one thing Tywin's dream from Jamie's final pov chapter in Feast of Crows.

It spelled out basically what I just asserted.

Everything he ever did was for his family.

Cool. Shows how much I know. I haven't kept up much with DC or Marvel for a long time (early 90s). Although I would read indie stuff from time to time. Apparently AMC is making a Preacher series.... which I'm really excited about.

I find the Starks equally infuriating and endearing at the same time for that very reason. I love them for being genuinely honourable people in a world of complete arseholes, but at the same time I want to throttle them for it when it comes back to bite them. :S

Could be worse though. They could be named Sheldon, or Herbert. Or, Maker forbid, Keith.

Eddard is supposed to be like Edward, which can be shortened to Ned.

Cass would def feel at home with the Starks but then again I see no way of her surviving in the GOT universe esp in Kings landing, she would not be able to resist punching Cercei in the face.
