Oh, I've never went down the rival path with Isabella (mostly because I'm affraid she'll just run with the damn book and will leave Hawke deal with the consequences
). Maybe I'll try that one day. When my game will stop to glitch graphically. Thank you so much for screwing it with your drivers, nVidia... *grumbles grumbles*
I see what you mean. Cass and the Inquisitor disagreeing on important subjects without her getting drunk at the end would have been nice. Calling Sera about some of her behaviours without getting a long fart noise as only answers would have been nice as well.
I liked the Isabela-rivalry a lot. Because I really didn't like most of her behavior, and she sort of accepted this. In the end, she will come to you (before the final fight) and say something along the lines of "You were harsh on me, but now I see why. You meant to show me there's a better way. You're a real friend." or something.
(She'll just run away with the book if your relationship is mediocre. 100% rivalry is just a fine as 100% friendship.)
Well, for roleplaying the drunk scene was good. Can be used as a trigger, like "Oh my god, I did this to her? Was I really so horrible?", subsequently followed by changing your ways and trying to show her that you're a decent person after all. This works well in fact, but it is still a dislike-turned-to-respect thing, which is something different than a respect-despite-opposing-views in DA2. In fact, while I think this hardly really works for Fenris (I don't see him respect somebody who has a completely different moral code, which was necessary to achieve 100% rivalry), I do see it could work well for Cass, who is able to accept opposing views, as long as she senses good intentions in a person.
