So...... not an Aussie who goes batshit simply because a girl didn't hook up with him?

In the comics (pre New-52, I don't know what his story is in the reboot) he was a young kid who lied about his age to join the Army to serve in Korea. After serving a tour in Korea, he would fall in love with his commanding officer and had children with her (and married her). Later on in Vietnam in the 60's, the Army used him in a series of experiments to create metahuman supersoldiers (Captain America with guns, basically). He and his unit were sent on a suicide mission which he barely got out of, and he deserted the military, though his family stayed. Deathstroke would then sell his skills as a mercenary, and his youngest son would be taken hostage by a criminal group in order to lure Deathstroke to them, so they could learn who hired him as an assassin in a recent job he had taken. He refused to say anything and killed the criminals, but one of the criminals slashed his son's throat. He didn't die, but his vocal chords were damaged and he was rendered mute.

He took his son to the hospital and his wife, knowing that he was a danger to them with his job as a mercenary/assassin (as shown by their son being taken hostage and nearly killed), tried to kill him by shooting him in the face, but she instead only shot him in his right eye, blinding him in that eye (which is why his mask is half black over the right side). Without the mask, he wears an eye patch.

So yeah, not an Aussie who got mad that a girl rejected him. They also made him way younger in the show, where he's around Ollie's age (though he's got a few years on Ollie). One of the things that's cool about Deathstroke is that he's a middle-aged guy who can take on all of the core members of the Justice League, and win. In the show, he's nothing more than a petty terrorist. He's the deadliest assassin in the DCU, outclassing even Deadshot (who they kind of pooped on in Arrow as well).

Ron Perlman as Deathstroke is love, Ron Perlman as Deathstroke is life.

And good for Perlman too, since he's managed to voice Deathstroke in a number of animated incarnations of the character since the Titans series (which, admittedly, isn't a lot; you can probably count them all on 1 hand). He's great in the Flashpoint Paradox (my favorite DC movie), but his screentime is criminally short.

He didn't do Deathstroke in Injustice, which makes me sad, but whoever they got in his place did a good impersonation.

To be honest it was a rather respectful debate.  Still, just be aware the ship has gained a lot of Tumblr popularity, so sooner or later you will get  a crazy one fighting you.

And if this about me sharing the odd tethraghast pic, I do spoiler tag so it's not like you have to view it.

To be honest, I'm not sure why you actually keep posting pics of that ship here when there is a thread dedicated to Tethragast. Is it just for the sake of generating negative reactions from us?

Are you lot really that bored, lol. Keith isn't really a good or bad name, it's just a name...

Oh and love the Punisher.

Punisher needs a proper movie

I can't answer for AWTEW, but why, If we're just asking questions, why, every two weeks or so, do we get someone from the Cass thread to come over to the Cass/Varric thread to explain their opposition to the pairing?

Is it just for the sake of generating negative reactions from us?

I never saw Fenders, but I never felt the need to troll Fenders threads to tell them just how wrong and f-Ed up they were. Didn't like the pairing? Didn't enter the thread.

Now trolling them in other threads if they bought their stuff there? Yeah...guilty.

He's had bits and pieces of a proper movie. The Russian fight was pretty great, for example.

I liked his movie. Better than a lot of other comic movies.

I've only seen the one with John Travolta. Lol I know a lot of people hated it, I liked it a lot though. *shrug* I also loved the Avengers despite the issues it had. Took my brother to watch it with me. He's not big on comic book heroes. Dissed batman and almost had to snuff him out that day, lol, but he loved that movie. He dissed Thor though. I might have to kill my brother.

Yeah, that's the best of the bunch, but it's not that great to me either. It just has great parts.

I can't really get mad at Tetraghast if I take into the account the whole game. There are worse things. Pairing up with someone exactly like her creepy uncle. Better yet, a Qunari version of her creepy uncle, who's a both Sarrebas and who supports the Qun at the same time, yet makes Leliana Divine. :D Or Reavers in general. The game can get really silly. And in the end, Cassandra looks like an idiot.

She jokes about the anti-Chantry Qunari. I believe her line is something like people might say she's crazy and/or was seduced by the evil subversive athesti Qunari Inquisitor.

I would switch the second and third picture. The second quote goes better with the third picture, while the red on her face in the second picture represents the fire in the third quote. Nitpicking :P.

Yeah, what a joke.

It's a sad fate for a great character. To make everything about pleasing the player's viewpoint. But most Bioware fans couldn't have it any other way.

Terrible people never think they're terrible...

That's a pretty fancy line. But I don't quite understand how it's related to "Keith". Can you reassemble the letters to come up with another name for "Satan" in some other language?

Speaking of Vestalus, I've been working on a fic from Anthony's POV. Maybe I'll post it here once I'll be done.

Wait, what? I don't understand what you're talking about here.

It's pretty well-established Cassandra's open minded. She is a reform-oriented figure, after all. The difference between her and Leliana isn't their ideology (both think the same things re: inclusiveness) but their view on the politics of the Chantry (how much reform is possible without breaking the Institution apart).

She was a great character when she wasn't this open minded.

It's ridiculous now. Seems to be the only "belief" most here care about anymore. Both in the context of this game and in life in general. Characters with stronger stances will get denigrated (see Vivienne and Sera)....so you can't have that for Cassandra.

And I can't help but think it's just some wish on Gaider's part that people really were this way.... because I'm sure he's dealt with plenty of b.s. from religion (and I can sympathize). But it's taken to silly levels. Because of this I don't see Cassandra anymore. But the writer.
