Hmmm... Okay. I guess I can see the point but knowing the reasons did not help me as much as I thought it would :/ At least I have the freedom to not read them xDDDD

Neither Garrus nor Tali were already hooked with someone else though. I know most people now wish Bianca had never existed, but she does. But fine, Tethraghast isn't a crackship. What is it called, then? Or can I call it a sinkship? A ship with so many water leaks it'll never reach the other side.

Having stumbled on this stuff in other ships, there's a few reasons I can pinpoint:
1) People enjoy joining the bad guys and the good guys together. Nothing is more awesome than a villain redeemed through the power of love (in their eyes).
2) The author wants a challenge. How can they put two such disparate people together and still have it be semi-believable?
3) I cringe just saying this, but it's true: rape fantasies
1. I can think of one thing more awesome. Telling a believable story that doesn't require mangling the characteristics of its characters.
2. They can't, because people don't work that way.
3. People disgust me.
edit: Oh, right, here's a fic of mine, since I remember that I said I would dig one up. The Alan Wake fic I wrote (the very beginning of it anyway, I never finished publishing it beyond this part of the first chapter). If one has not played Alan Wake, I heavily recommend you do so for context on characters and settings (and also because the game is fantastic and amazing).

I threw it together pretty quickly and nobody volunteered to beta read it when I was writing, I know it's not great.

I'm not defending the stuff, just explaining it. Though it can occassionally be amusing if you have a taste for badfic. Though there's no defense for #3...
And I skimmed through your fic. I know nothing about Alan Wake, but you write pretty dang well. I did some Justice League fics at the same age and yours are miles ahead of where I was. (If my praise means much to you.)

Somewhat sad a Seeker of Truth couldn't find a mage healer in her hour of need. They do great plastics I hear...
She probably just likes that tough as nails looks.

Plastics guy, love. Nobody needs to suffer needlessly.
I always assumed Cassandra chose to not have her injury tended by a mage, given the Chantry's inherent distrust of mages. But in a universe that contains Spirit Healers like Wynne and Anders, that can revive the (near) dead, no noble person, or personage like the Right Hand of the Divine, would have had to accept a facial scar as just a part of life.

Is it required watching to play this computer game?
And I didn't realise there is a scoring system here. What are we scored on? Having personal preferences?

Not at all. It simply provides additional insight into Cassandra's character. I believe the point Keith is making is that your assumption regarding Cassandra's inherent distrust of Mages is mistaken, and referencing the events of Dawn of the Seeker as evidence.

And if so? Even if you are right that she simply prefers the tough-as-nails look, what's the issue? That scar does look pretty cool after all and like Bull says, a worn and bloody sword impresses your enemy more than a clean and unused looking one.
And I didn't realise there is a scoring system here. What are we scored on? Having personal preferences?
Oh, there's always a score. On anything, really. Your preferences, your opinions or the lack thereof, how many (or few) words you can use to express an idea, how loud you can scream and so on. The cool kids will inform you when your score is high enough to join the in-crowd.
