*Disgusted noise*

It makes me sad when Cass is reduced to reading romance novels.
I don't mind it in itself, but it seems like the "Alistair loves cheese" of DAI. It's true, but sometimes exaggerated to an extreme.

He's not the only one, cheese is freaking everywhere in Dragon Age!
I'm starting to think the Maker is Wallace...

Alistair loves cheese?
How did I miss that?

Well, he mentions cheese about twice in DAO, and King!Alistair mentions it in a letter to the Inquisition. It's more that he occasionally brings it up, and yet it's hyperbolized into an obsession by some of the fans.
I think the same thing is done towards Cassandra's love for Swords and Shields. It's one aspect of her, but it's sometimes treated like it defines her. I remember right after release, during the early surge of "LIs suck for straight males" threads, there was one guy who was outraged because he felt it meant she had poor taste and was therefore un-romanceable to him.

Same with how "Swooping is bad" became a catchphrase for Alistair and "Bullsh*t" became one for Cassandra, despite them only saying it once in the course of the game they first appeared in.
While Alistair still says it from time to time, I don't think Cassandra has uttered that phrase since, instead she has "[Disgusted Noise]" as her new running gag, making me that the writers might have been intentionally trying to avoid it.
(Reminds me a little of the "Milhouse is not a meme" debate)

I wonder what the actor thinks of cassandra 'disgusted noise' being so popular?
Probably nothing, honestly, since what she does has nothing to do with why it's so popular. I'm sure a lot of us say ugh several times a day while reading BSN, which is essential all it is(well, actually, that's exactly what it is). I know a lot of the people in Inquisition do. For some reason Cassandra was just singled out to have her sighs have the description. Probably for the reason given above.

It's because she is no longer threatening dwarves with a knife to their nether regions and has worked out all of her rage by killing stuff, then reading Varric's bad smut and then proceeded to punch him in the face for writing smut about her and the Inquisitor. But i may have got a bit distracted. I think the disgusted noise is more to do with Cassandra calming down since DA2 and not interogating people then it is the writers not liking the word, Bullshit. That and Bull could take offence.

Could be an oblique reference to The Simpsons, where Homer's "D'oh" and Marge's frustrated "Mmm" are always transcribed in the scripts as "Annoyed Grunt" and "Disgruntled Noise".

'Nobody, had better take this book, that's filled with naked pictures of Varric, from me.' thought Cassandra..

Nah, but I'm kinda over it tbh. I'm certainly over DAI (the game.) I really only come onto bsn to check this thread.
Should have been an option to tell her, "**** the nobles, you get as much time as you want."

I can't be sad at that. It's stupid.
Come on, Andres. Shake it off. Write another diatribe against religion dictating personal lives. ![]()

To clarify, I believe I wrote about the religious institution (the Chantry) with its childish notion of greater good (a notion that runs poisonous, through Cassandra's head) ruining the relationship between the Inquisitor and Cassandra. I thought I asked a good question, how can you call this so called 'greater good' good, when it destroys the good between individuals? This is why I love the Witcher, Geralt of Rivia does not care for the socially inculcated mores that boil down to fatuous semantics (greater and lesser), above all, he cares for those close to him, and he follows his own Wicther's code. Why? His world (also his life) sucks, it is filled with perpetual horror and death, it is better to traverse such a world in good company.

This kind of reminds me of an argument I made once. How I think Cassandra is pretty much the anti Miranda of Bioware games. Because the way I see it, it's like this:
Both Miranda and Cassandra are driven woman that believe in a cause and the greater good, both are willing to make harsh decisions if it means furthering the greater good. But there are two main differences between them. 1) Is that Miranda ideal of greater good mostly comes from her personal idology of what's right, and how things should be, wereas Cassandra view of the greater good is an messy mix of her personal ideologies with the ones the Chantry implemented on her since young age. 2) Miranda chooses the cause over the organization. Because by the end of ME2 Miranda comes to realize what Cerberus truly is, and quits once she realizes they failed the cause they were trying to achieve. Wereas Cassandra chooces the organization over the cause. For no matter how low the Chantry falls, how many mistakes they do, or how much they betray their own creed, Cassandra aways sticks to them, she is willing to step on her own moral code if it means the Chantry will be saved.
And because of that, Miranda has my respect, while Cassandra does not.

So what exactly was the point to this?
