Because it is possible to discuss the character of an individual without spoiling concrete aspects of the newest story. And because in general, from what I know of Geralt and Cassandra, I do not understand your views on these respective characters. Instead of insisting to base your explanations purely on TW3 I assumed you could instead explain your point by referencing older events or simply only by analyzing the characters and motivations, which would be enough to explain statements such as "hypocrite" or "follows his own way while she does not". 

 

My own statement did not reference any particular event and I think I could still make myself understood in this debate. Jason was able to reply on a meta level too.

There is a description of the night life in Nevarra in TWoT Volume 2.
Apparently, families, both great and small, light lanterns around the statues of ancestors and hire troupes to reenact their glorious deed. The wealthiest families can have hundreds at one time. Then, there are banquets where dragons can be served and couples wear armors and red costumes in order to symbolize both the warriors and the dragons. If the river has frozen, skating is common.

Sounds like the place to visit.

To clarify, I believe I wrote about the religious institution (the Chantry) with its childish notion of greater good (a notion that runs poisonous, through Cassandra's head) ruining the relationship between the Inquisitor and Cassandra. I thought I asked a good question, how can you call this so called 'greater good' good, when it destroys the good between individuals? This is why I love the Witcher, Geralt of Rivia does not care for the socially inculcated mores that boil down to fatuous semantics (greater and lesser), above all, he cares for those close to him, and he follows his own Wicther's code. Why? His world (also his life) sucks, it is filled with perpetual horror and death, it is better to traverse such a world in good company. 

 

It's simple really. Greater good applies to the good of the whole, which naturally means some individuals get sacrificed along the way, generally speaking. I'd argue that greater good could be looked at rather positively, depending on how you apply it. Some could say Geralt is selfish for instance if he gives up his role as protector of the greater good for his own personal reasons.

 

Needs of the few before the many is also why politicians are so corrupt.

 

This is just generally speaking. As it applies to Cassandra, I'd say there's nothing poisonous about Cassandra's focus on greater good. The sacrifice of her own personal happiness to do what she thinks is best for others is rather noble.
