When people discovered Varric was a writer, even before DA2 was released, many started wondering what type of books he'd write. Since at the time there was a great speculation over whether he'd be romanceable and because women were fanning over his chest hair and because someone said he looked like Fabio Lanzoni, people started drawing him in book covers similar to Fabio's. You know the type.

 

When the game came out, the idea that he wrote smut was firmly rooted in the minds of fans and it hasn't been disloadged.

I personally think Hard in Hightown 2: Siege Harder is a joke on Die Hard 2: Die Harder, which was seen as terrible compared to the first Die Hard for a lot of people.
