I wish we had some fan art of Cassandra just killing a hurlock or interrogating someone or something. Like doing her job. For a change.

It's no longer edgy of forward thinking when there are other three hundred drawings of Cassandra making out with whatever. The thought that fan artists aren't very imaginative is odious and I don't want to have it.

Sorry I can't draw. Just expressing wishes and hopes.

Yes.

Then show me! I said that someone else pictured her that way and someone else said she's a tsundere, I don't know her character at all besides being angry at Varric.

Why not both?

I am sure there will be. I think most people now are just imagining how the romance would be but as we move forward other aspects will be shown, especially once the game is released (and it a reason why I stay out of the forums/deviant art until I beat the game to avoid spoilers).

She is tsundere, but no where in the definition of tsundere does it say they secretly read porn and are embarrassed about it.

She's not a tsundere, she's a kuudere (and they don't secretly read porn either).

Why is it implied that Cassandra enjoys reading dirty books?

She has a sex drive, she's educated, she lives in a world where books and portfolios are likely the only private erotic entertainment, and she doesn't come off as particularly prudish.

Not reading dirty books makes you a prude?

A prudish person is unlikely to spend their time reading erotica, especially in a time where you can't anonymously read a website or have something delivered to your house.

I looked up the term. Actually if we go by the original use of the word which was pretty much "honorable woman", then I think we can say Cassandra is indeed a prude.

After reading the definitions, being a prude is more a compliment than an insult anyway.

That's what the shady neighborhoods were for. On the other hand was there even erotic prosaic/lyrik/belletristic back in the day?

I'm so shocked to see that Cassandra has quite a gay following, odd seeing as she's probably straight.

Given that Thedas has no printing press, most bound books are likely hand copied in limited supplies and you'd get them from a professional book seller. They are unlikely to hang out in 'shady neighborhoods' as their clients would be wealthy.

And there was totally erotica back in the day. There weren't novels per se but there was longer romances.

She's the Judy Garland of Thedas.

I think the printing press actually is a thing in Thedas. Considering Varric writes novels for a living, and most libraries we see are pretty well-populated.

That would be neat.

I still haven't figured out how everyone and his brother has a dozen books or so in the Elder Scrolls universe.

So I did a bit of research. Apparently Varric uses woodblock printing for his books.

Aveline: You are very close to losing your printing blocks, Varric.
Varric: Once more I am falsely accused of whatever it is that I am accused of. Falsely.
Aveline: Someone swapped the text of my recruitment poster with some filth from the Blooming Rose.
Varric: That does sound pretty good.
Aveline: Sure, fill barracks with whores. But you've also filled the Rose with guards.
Varric: It's true what they say. The best comedy comes from tragedy.

I don't see what's shocking about it, she fits a lot of gay stereotypes. Although going by Biowares track record, that means they can't possibly make her gay.

I think Varric had a printing press or access to one it's mentioned in one of his banters in Act 2:

Aveline: You are very close to losing your printing blocks, Varric.

Varric: Once more I am falsely accused of whatever it is that I am accused of. Falsely.

Aveline: Someone swapped the text of my recruitment poster with some filth from the Blooming Rose.

Now that you mention it weird, I've never thought of that. It'd also mean that the population is highly educated for the time.

Who said she has a sex drive?

There was no such fling. She gave him a chaste kiss on the cheek. That is all. Anyone who thinks anything else happened is headcanoning.
