I disagree. He had romantic feelings for her, but she doesn't seem to return them.

 

And even if so, there is no epilogue that says they have a fling after the events of the movie, so regardless of interpretation their 'relationship' ends with the chaste kiss I mentioned. After that, nobody knows.

I'm just clearing up a misconception. People think Cassandra and Regalyan had a thing, and there is no in-lore evidence that says that. That's all I'm saying.

Yeah, there is no actual proof that Cassandra had a fling with Regalyn after DotS.  Could she have?  Sure it's definitely possible as that kiss on the cheek could be potentially Cassandra showing interest to Regalyn but it could've also been a chaste kiss to a friend.  Regalyn obviously was interested in Cassandra but we were kinda guessing on if Cassandra had developed feelings more than friendship towards him.  Considering she was anti-mage at the beginning of DotS, I'm leaning more towards that she only sees him as a friend as that would be quite the jump going in their relationship.

As far as IMDB is telling me, none of the writers from Bioware had anything to do with DTOS, so I'm not sure why people even use it as reference for anything.

Because Bioware accepts it as canon. Sort of like how Lucasarts accepted Star Wars EU books as canon despite nobody from Lucasarts was writing them.

Well, I know I don't normally kiss my friends on the cheek. Maybe other people do. I don't really kiss my family members on the cheek either, but sometimes they've kissed me on the cheek. Sorta weirds me out, personally, lol. Even if there were romantic feelings between them, a kiss on the cheek isn't the most absolute, "they are definitely dating, now" sign. It's not like it really matters, now. That was some time ago. Cassandra's moved on, if there was anything there, and is ready to embrace possible romance with our Inquisitors

That and I use the DotS Cassandra appearance as a basis for my Human Warrior characters.

Personally I think the anger of the second line should be directed at the fans who think that than Laidlaw. He's just the messenger.
