Her anger is a large part of her motivation as a character. The whole blood mages killed my family thing (unless its been retconned) makes an aggressive personality type.
I just hope we can remind her about her dead brother.

Not retconnetted, but she seems to be a bit calmer at the end of the anime, as well as have changed (a bit) her view on magic and mages. At least that's what people told me.
Yes, the Inquisitor will sure be able to remind her of her brother, a person he/she doesn't know ever existed .

I imagine it would come up in some firm if dialogue since its was and is a defining point in her life. We got to hear all about everyone else's lives on DA:O/A and DA2, so I don't think it's out of the talk of possibility for DA:I.

But she is calmer and more open to mages by the end of the anime. Well at least one particular circle Mage.

Wonder if that mage from the anime will make an appearance or not.

The situation she is in during DAI is pretty dire, so I can't really blame her for being severe.

God I hope not...

since we can romance her, i really doubt it.

I doubt that would be the reason why or why not they decides to include him, I just hope they don't because I found him terribly boring and obnoxious.

well, it wouldnt be the main factor for not including him, its probably more of along the lines of he was a bit character and no one really cared about him to begin with.  At most it gets a dialogue mention or maybe something in the codex.  Plus it would be really awkward if he just popped in while cass and i were in a romance.

If I met someone in the real world like her, I'd be put off as I don't consider yelling and threats of violence to be the proper way to interact with someone.

Within the context of the game though, I find aggressiveness fine. She's passionate and a fighter. Violence is part of her life.

Mm...I find fighting and f***** equally fun, so Cass's attitude is more of a turn-on ;) That, and i can relate to Cass as violence and the threat of it is part of my job. From what i've seen, and based on my own experience. her attitude and mannerism is pretty consistant of someone whose job comes with both discipline and violence. Thumbs up for that to her writer :)

yeah, but if some chick just came up to you on the street and started screaming and yelling at you with a gun to your head you would think she was on drugs or at least out of her damn mind.

I don't have a problem.  You are the sole survivor of a hugenormous catastrophe that killed thousands.  I wouldn't be surprised if she drags you off in chains and interrogates you.

I'm pretty sure she drags us to some building to have her and Leliana interrogate us...*insert dirty thoughts*

Yes. but context is everything. After a major disaster with you as the only survivor... I can understand the lady in obvious military uniform being a tad unfriendly. Imagine if you walked away from a bombing, people might wonder why you were unharmed.

I hope her romance includes a 'shut up' kiss. I can picture it: Cassandra trying to deny her feelings, getting all flustered and angry and the Inquisitor grabbing her to kiss her passionately. Kinda like Kira and Odo from DS9.

Actually it might be interesting to have an occasion where Cassie's disposition actually harms or at least hinders the cause. Diplomacy is not her strong suit, ok she has no concept of diplomacy, but it might be fun to call her out on it.

i think we might see that a few time actually, varric is prone to talking his way out of trouble and cass is prone to beating people to get out of trouble.  We could go me2 style and have to choose a character to be diplomatic in a situation and cass would just get us into more trouble, where varric or viviene would get us out of any trouble.

So would i, and it would be fighting time. Would not be too miffed, see previous reply ;) Violence just loses its shock value after a certain point.

True that. Those two have a better grasp of how to work with people. It might be fun to scold Cassie about it, once we get back to the keep...

This would actually be interesting, choosing your companions based on what you are going to do how you think it should be handled. Does the situation require tact and subtlety or would a more direct approach yield better results?

Kinda like Kira and Odo from DS9.

My two favorite characters from that series. It's official, If it is at all possible, I must model an Inquisitor after Rene Auberjonois in 1993. :P

well, it wasnt a gun but a kitchen knife.  Just a reminder, dont p*ss her off, she can flip a sandal off her foot and hit you 100 yards away around a corner.

Oh, I see. I see me getting along with all of them but still not seeing totally eye to eye because I think mages deserve freedom and equality. But I do agree with the circle of magi to a degree. Here are my thoughts on what should the chantry do for mages post Mage-Templar war:

  • Mages have more rights and freedom but from age 6 to 18 they need to attend the Circle of Magi for training. They still can leave the Circle on their own but lose all benefits(land opportunity, titles, jobs, etc) except freedom. Circle Mages get to go home to family on holidays and for an extended period after 9 straight months of training.

My ideal solution is similar, except attending the Circle is mandatory for every mage as soon as their power reveals itself. The newly revealed mage would be taken to the Circle, but the group that comes to pick him up would be comprised of both mages and templars. Their job would be to explain the situation to both the mage and his/her family  and make the transition to the Circle as painless as possible to avoid traumatizing anyone involved. Once in the Circle, in addition to training, mages would have rights such as monthly visits to their families or places outside the Circle as duty or research requires, rights to marry and raise a family. Any trips outside the Circle would be done under templar escort, to ensure the safety of the mages as much as to keep an eye on them so they don't abuse the trust they've been given. The Circle itself would be run jointly by Knight-Commander and First Enchanter with both of them having equal power and say in all matters.
