I totally forgot with all the romance news (duh), but today they also confirmed companions get their own unique spec based on their history.

So say goodbye to speculation of Templar Cassandra and say hello to Seeker & Dragon hunter Cassandra speculation.

Oh and they also confirmed that Nevarrans are quite fine with necromancy, but that the rest of the Thedas is a bit less fan of it. Makes me think that Necromancer Inquisitor will only have Cassandra and Dorian for friends.

I am very curious to know how many women vs. how many men wanted to romance Cassandra.

No idea, I put the women has the more vocal group on the web about it.  The only thing I know is that I expect DAI male PC stats to be skewed by all the women playing male PC to romance her. lol

I also know that with Josephine's reveal many people jumped ship (many puns intended).

Besides, is anyone honestly surprised that Cassandra is straight? I know I wasn't, she seemed straight to me all the way from DA2. So this confirmation was inevitable in my eye.

Good for you.

The only real issue I have with Cassandra being straight is that Sera could potentially turn into a less important character whose recruitment can be easily missed.

Given that Cassandra was Varric's interrogator in DA II, she seems to have had an influential role in getting our adviser's together, and she confronts our Inquisitor when they step out of the Fade, I assume that she'll be an early and mandatory companion.

That doesn't mean that other characters won't have important roles or can easily be skipped.

It's nice to have confirmation about her preferences, although after the Sera announcement it was unlikely she wouldn't be available to Males.

I guess even if you were disappointed she is not available to the Ladies you got the information now rather than on release. Small comfort, I know.

I'm equally curious. What is it with Bioware denying the ladies their ladyknights, anyways? This is the second time now, for "story purposes" or other inadequate reasons.

We know that Leliana has a role in recruitment too, since she was the one who picked up Josephine (or are we going with Josie now)?

I believe we heard that there is one mandatory companion, and I wouldn't be surprised if it is her.

On these forums i'd probably guess at more women. In total though, who knows? These forums represent an extremely vocal minority of Bioware fans.

You can miss Leliana, and she turned out to be pretty damn important to Dragon Age.

She wasn't important in Dragon Age: Origins.

Good for you.

True, but it also doesn't mean the opposite.

I suppose that depends on one's playthrough.

I think he/she means that she wasn't integral to the main quest in the same way Alistair and Morrigan were.

It would have been better not having 3 months to worry and hope to tell you the truth. I'll get over the disappointment and I'm sure I will enjoy the romances I'm given but my anger with BioWare for releasing the two straight romances but not announcing that they were straight until now will last for awhile.

Some posts removed.

When I make a post effectively saying to not come into the thread and tell people how obvious it was that Cassandra would be heterosexual, it doesn't mean come in and make a post saying exactly that.

I kinda wonder if Cassandra's going to get a bonus of some kind against Dragons.  And books.

I really liked her character and her companion quest, but apart from the mentioned quest she wasn't involved in anything if I remember correctly.

Edit: spelling

I imagine she'll have a Seeker tree.

I wonder if she'll have a bonus against Templars.

She should be able to one shot dragons with a dagger *pout* (because I know it won't be the case except maybe in a cutscene). Going by the Therinfal codex, Seekers are trained to fight demons.

She is would totally be a Cavalier in BG2...

Was Morrigan integral at all if you refused the Dark Ritual?

I understand what's being said in a general sense: Morrigan has the possibility of being important to the main quest in Origins, whereas Leliana does not. But I think a character's importance to one's playthrough in a broad sense is more important than that.

Does that make our PC an Inquisitor? lol

That kit reminds me a lot of the Templar spec.  It was my fave in BG2 though :)

How many dragons has she killed?

Yes, Morrigan was more important than Leliana. I say this as someone who played a female PC who romanced Leliana and ended up preferring that.

1) You can skip Leliana, you cannot skip Morrigan

2) Even if you dismiss Morrigan, she comes and offers you the Dark Ritual. Something the developers have acknowledged is an important choice. No interaction with Leliana is as important as making the OGB or not.

3) Morrigan was the cover-girl for DA:O and featured prominently in the build-up. She was meant to be symbolic of the seductive and dangerous nature of magic within TheDAS.

In DotS, she killed 1 drake, 3 mature/high dragons (they were game high dragon sized) and she crashed on an even bigger dragon while riding one of the mature/high dragon, but she didn't finish it (a huge pride demon did that, she finished the pride demon though).

oic that's a lot

I think it counts if she killed the pride demon that killed the dragon.

Isn't that how it works?
