No, but she fought like a Berserker the entire anime.

Yes, Morrigan was more important than Leliana. I say this as someone who played a female PC who romanced Leliana and ended up preferring that.
1) You can skip Leliana, you cannot skip Morrigan
2) Even if you dismiss Morrigan, she comes and offers you the Dark Ritual. Something the developers have acknowledged is an important choice. No interaction with Leliana is as important as making the OGB or not.
3) Morrigan was the cover-girl for DA:O and featured prominently in the build-up. She was meant to be symbolic of the seductive and dangerous nature of magic within TheDAS.
As I said, I understand that Morrigan is tied more closely to the main quest than Leliana, but a playthrough where she arrives at the camp, is dismissed, then the DR is rejected at the end, hardly features her as more important to a playthrough than a Warden that romances Leliana.
Advertising is not a part of a playthrough. If it was we'd have to consider Flemeth for DA2's lead female character.
Edit: This is getting a bit irrelevant for Cassandra, so I'll leave it there for my part.

Even if you don't go through with it, it's part of the climax of the story.

Rejecting the dark ritual is still important though.
Even if you don't go through with it, it's part of the climax of the story.
In which nobody has a climax.

Being able to flirt with Aveline was interesting because she had no interest in any PC. Not because she was closed off to a specific race/gender/class.

I don't recall being able to flirt with Morrigan or male PCs being able to flirt with Alistair.
Nope. None, though I sorely wish there had been.

You can miss Leliana, and she turned out to be pretty damn important to Dragon Age.
I got half way through the game with out knowing about Sten or Leliana... when I found out I started over lol

Well, that's disappointing...
Do you think we'll ever get a gay/bi female companion who's not a rogue?
I'm sure Vivienne will fit that role ![]()

Race-gated straight Varric. Calling it now. I have a good feeling about this.
I been saying that since last month. I have a good feeling we are right!

I feel as for female Inquisitors you will have a chance to flirt with her then turned down and same for male Inquisitors when flirting with Sera.

Varric's only really demonstrated interest with dwarven women and crossbows.

Uh...no?
I don't recall being able to flirt with Morrigan or male PCs being able to flirt with Alistair.
Being able to flirt with Aveline was interesting because she had no interest in any PC. Not because she was closed off to a specific race/gender/class.
See I would love to be able to run around hitting on random NPCs and getting rejected in various degrees (maybe even with a few "maybe...wait...I'm married!" "Wut? NO!" for the lulz) because at least then I can have my character being a flirt or showing what kind of people he/she is attracted to without the inevitable "I THOUGHT WE WERE OFFICAL." you get whenever you dare flirt with a BW LI.

I wasn't going to romance her to begin with, but it's regrettable that Bioware designed their female-favored female companion as straight. Ah well.

Yeah its funny how that works. A lot of ladies wanted Cassandra and a lot of guys wanted Sera. But it was inevitable since Josephine was confirmed to be Bi.

Call me shallow all you want, but I'm incredibly pissed at Bioware making Cassandra male-only.
The other two female options for female inquisitors both seem incredibly lackluster and I don't really have an interest in either of them.
Damn it...and I was really looking forward to the game too.
You can call me stupid or pathetic or whatever for throwing in the towel over something minor like this, but we all have our reasons for why we play. In an RPG, my romances are important to me.
Screw it. I don't care anymore.
What a idiotic move on Bioware's part.
