Douchequisitor: So yeah, the Maker doesn't exist and you're foolish for believing in him, Cass

Awesomequisitor: (burns Douchequisitor alive)
Cassandra and Awesomequisitor kiss

I don't think she's race locked, so yes.
I hope you're right ![]()
plus i think they mentioned in the q&a about a romance or two outside the companions and advisors, so who knows we might get some more options
I see this thread is still on fire. Mind the pitchforks >.< Soo... sexual orientation of an rpg character. Writing...problematic. Do you write a solid, if more railroaded, story or let the players create much of the story (sandbox) and have the story be shallower due to budget, time and technical limitations? I personally would let the players create the story, but i'm not a game designer trying to make a game that has to make a profit. Plus i have a hard time fathoming monosexuality beyond intellectual level anyway.*shugs* I'm weird, i know.
The disappointment on the forums is understandable. Cassandra is the one character whose personality we know quite a bit about. Saying that this or that new character is an option is just not the same as we know next to nothing about them. Physical attraction is a diffrent animal from 'potential life mate material' attraction. The new characters might be great people or they might be disappointments (Anders....>.<).
im surprised they even take the time to look at the forums for feedback. if it were me, i would just have the gamers deal with what the developers wrote and ignore all the hate that happens after. but thats what makes bioware unique....
This.
God no.
I honestly wouldn't hold your breath.
It will probably be Blackwall.

I think the ME3 ending pr-disaster convinced them that you do actually need to talk to players.
Well it's been all day since I heard the news and I'm still super dissapointed. I can only hope the next few months will be enough time to mourn this. I guess David Gaider is bound and determined to NOT have me play one of his romances.
But seriously though, I already went through this pining after straight girls stage in high school and it was horrible, THIS IS VERY TRIGGERING FOR ME BIOWARE (kidding kidding)

I'll admit that you're at a disadvantage compared to my disappointment with Sera. I didn't have much buildup with Sera. I didn't even know her name. I just got the feeling she was going to be a cool rogue-ish follower. And she was cute.
Cassandra and Cullen fans had bigger fanbases and preconceptions. So I'm sorry about the news. FWIW. I just hope it doesn't kill your interest in the game totally. That makes me to sad to hear from other fans more than anything.

Well forgive me if I can't muster an ocean of sympathy for you considering I just found out I wont be able to romance my absolute perfect woman, not to be cruel, haha.
Really though, not only do we not know what male companion characters will be straight, we dont even know which ones are romanceable at this point, and just from looking between IB, Solas and Blackwall, Blackwall just jumps out to me as the one the writers would pick for a straight female romance. I could be wrong though, I was wrong about Cassandra so you can hang onto some hope with that, haha.

Cullen is straight. I doubt they'll make another straight only male. The options left are still pretty open.

Cullen is also an adviser, not a companion, and we have far more male companions than female ones.
I'll be surprised if there's more than one straight or gay option out of 8 LIs. I expect the remaining to be bisexual.
I'll honestly be surprised if the rest of the unconfirmed 8 romances are all bisexual.

Mod all you want. Just don't quit the game. There's so much to be interested in. If you don't, I'll hunt you down and force you to play ![]()
Cassandra is gorgeous.
And so very sexy.
Maybe some type of uglification mod so I don't notice this while I'm playing.
I was planning on having her be my staple tank in my party, but I'll probably have to trade her out for Blackwall or IB, because...Ugh, no. Can't deal with even having her around, haha.

You can't make me! Seriously though, now I'll make it even more of a point to annoy Cassandra at every possible opportunity. I'll bring Varric and Sera along to help me do just that. I heard that the devs call a Cassandra, Varric and Sera party 'Seeker's last nerve'.

Well I'm clinging onto those tweets that call him mentorish with all my might.
Really though IB leaps more to me as a romance than anything. The straight female romance is already Cullen so hopefully that'd feel the tragedy quotas D: but yes clinging onto those tweets calling him mentorish with all of the might XD

Bwahaha I have gots to do this on my male mage. Probably play a snarky mage (if possible) for extra annoyance.
The bias is only acceptable until we do something with a returning character that is what you are looking for that you don't appreciate us doing, though. There's no guarantee that you'd like where a romance with Cassandra goes, so it's still on some level a Schrodinger's Romance.
Cassandra once held the position of Sera and Josephine: characters that are new that people have yet to meet and see in action. Making Cassandra bisexual ensures that those that would have preferred Josephine would likely have not gotten the romance that they enjoy. So, as stated, it ends up being a wash.
Is this confirmation that Vivienne won't be a romance option?

No. Allan is just using a confirmed female bi LI as an example.

He probably just picked the name we knew to make a point, being that making one character bisexual just disappoints another audience that would prefer a different character, either way. I wouldn't take it as confirmation of anything.
Anyway, there's something about that strong, confident and assertive female characters that really draw me to them.
Than again, all my past girlfriends have been huge tomboys that could fight pretty well so that may be it.
