He probably just picked the name we knew to make a point, being that making one character bisexual just disappoints another audience that would prefer a different character, either way. I wouldn't take it as confirmation of anything.

I am very happy for the queer ladies who are into Josephine. The thread has exploded with excitement and will likely be overtaking our own.

That's evidence that she's more popular Cassandra, so perhaps if she'd been announced as straight, more of us would be disappointed. I don't know.

Anyway, there's something about that strong, confident and assertive female characters that really draw me to them.

Than again, all my past girlfriends have been huge tomboys that could fight pretty well so that may be it.

Cassandra is a very compelling character. I look forward to seeing her when she's not yelling or threatening the Inquisitor.

There's no way I could not have her in my party.

That's how i feel about Sera. Part of me will be disappointed not to be able to romance her but no power in the verse will stop me having her in my party. Cass and Sera, so i just need a mage.

Yeah, I'll still have Sera around. Cass tank, me melee dps, sera ranged dps, and one of the mages.

You can't make me! Seriously though, now I'll make it even more of a point to annoy Cassandra at every possible opportunity. I'll bring Varric and Sera along to help me do just that. I heard that the devs call a Cassandra, Varric and Sera party 'Seeker's last nerve'.

have a witty inquisitor and she will probably throw us all over a cliff

I wish they give her a scene where she stabs few enemies and then replies "I just love stabbing" with her accent :D

And then Iquisitor if he in romance with her replies "and tonight I stab ya good"

ok nvm :D

I'm actually looking forward to the yelling matches between her and my first playthrough female dale elf who will have Opinions and a temperament. Sparks will fly, rocks fall and the rest of the inquisition will be running for cover :D

Just a tiny bit disappointed about the announcement. I have a thing for battle couples and two awesome warrior ladies in love would have been such a great love story to role play. I'm still absolutely going to romance her, but as a male Inquisitor. We still get Sera and Josephine, both of whom seem like amazing characters despite their non-warrior status. ;)

I'm really pleased with the confirmation that only 2 of the 8 LI's will be race-gated, as this means it is very unlikely that Cassandra will be race gated.

I've been dead-set on my awkward male elf rogue/Cassandra playthrough since the playable races were first announced.

She doesn't really seem like a character who would judge the Inquisitor based on their race, but it will be interesting to see how interactions with her, particularly her romance path, will be affected by the race of the PC.

Cassandra being straight kinda makes it look like lesbians got the short end of the stick. If there will be only one additional bisexual male companion, then that's the situation: straight people got 2 very developed characters known from previous games and even other media, who as it seems are the driving force of the game. Gay men got two full fledged companion romance options. Meanwhile, lesbians got, as it looks like for now, two side characters, of whom only one is companion.

I really hope that it's just such impression coming from the fact we don't know much about them, that in the end Sera and Josephine won't lack in development or feel as less important compared with other LI's. Basically I hope it won't be repetition of Samantha Traynor's case.

*snip*

Ha! This has three possible outcomes:

1. She is totally charmed (maybe)

2. She is embarassed and chides you for being silly, but she still likes it (likely)

3. She snarks at you and leaves you hanging (also likely. She's the sarcastic type) :D

I would trade you Sera if I could. :) I don't know what else to say.. you're not definitely not without cool options from my perspective. I'm sure that doesn't help much, but that's my 2c

It's been confirmed that the writing budget for advisors has been the same as the one for companions, that would mean a comparable amount of content.

I think the reaction stems more from 'I can't have them with me 24/7?! OMG I'm gonna die' than anything else. Some people are just so needy and clingy, know what I mean? ;)

Yup. I'm still not sure who to romance first. Josephine is really tempting me, but so does Cass.

IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR BOTH

A number of people still aren't aware that advisers have their own affection tract, their own quests, and a conversation budget comparable to a companions'.

Until I knew this, I was also very skeptical of them being as good as the companion relationships.

As a lesbian, I don't feel that I've gotten the 'short end of the stick.' Cassandra will be wonderful, but I don't doubt Sera and Josephine will also be wonderful. I consider Lair of the Shadow Broker to be BioWare's best DLC, and the fact that the person who wrote Liara there is writing Josephina tells me she'll be a great character.

Didn't play that, sorry.

You could romance Dawn Star and Silk Fox in Jade Empire and after you came back from the dead, they told you that they'd come to an agreement and would both be with you.

I think the reaction has more to do with experiences in the past games.

Lair of the Shadow Broker itself was written by Patrick Weeks though, but I'm sure you're right ^_^

If you were male...

You could hook up with both female LIs (Dawn Star and Silk Fox).

(I don't think that needs a spoiler so long after the game was released, yeah?)

ETA: And I mean, you could end the game in a threesome with both of them.
