I think the reaction has more to do with experiences in the past games.

Bioware is pretty good with learning from past mistakes and correcting them as much as possible though. They also experiment with new things and that sometimes blows up in their face, but at least they don't release the same game over and over and over.

I think the reaction stems more from 'I can't have them with me 24/7?! OMG I'm gonna die' than anything else. Some people are just so needy and clingy, know what I mean? ;)

I'm someone who values experiencing the story alongside LI as way of deepening bond. Given Josephine's reveal left me with no interest in her anyhow its likely moot for me anyhow.

Lair of the Shadow Broker itself was written by Patrick Weeks though, but I'm sure you're right ^_^

Sylvia wrote Liara in LotSB. I was talking specifically about the character and her interactions with Shepard, not the overall plot.

I understand being weary about advisor romances. It's hard to say what it'll be. I think Josephine might be a cool change of pace though on subsequent playthroughs. She seems like an easy going character (or maybe I'm just reading too much there. Since she's known for Diplomacy).

About Cass no need to worry, one day someone will probably create mod to allow females romance with her (as fem warden with Morrigan in DA:O)

I hope not. That would be just as wrong as a mod to make Sera available to men.

I agree and if Inquisition turns out to have great NPCs, then that will put many minds at ease for their upcoming projects. But until then some people will stay cautious.

Lots of people complain about the lack of realism in games, ie. no sword sheats, no quivers, yadda yadda yadda. A romance option that is inaccessible because of orientation? Blasphemy!

As a lesbian, I don't feel that I've gotten the 'short end of the stick.' Cassandra will be wonderful, but I don't doubt Sera and Josephine will also be wonderful. I consider Lair of the Shadow Broker to be BioWare's best DLC, and the fact that the person who wrote Liara there is writing Josephina tells me she'll be a great character.

Samantha Traynor was extremely underdeveloped though. She didn't have certain character building scenes every other LI had and had the least dialogue time, not to mention it looked like more effort was put into making her tease for male PC than into her romance.

Let's wait and see how it will look like for Josephine and especially Sera (considering that she's women-only option). I just said that both Cullen and Cassandra for now look like more significant and important characters.

BTW, sorry for off-top, but I was under the impression that you said before that you're not lesbian?

Its not even about realism for me, but about not respecting one's sexuality.

Thats how I felt at first but I am willing to give her a chance. I too have never romanced a LI who is not a party member.

First time for everything.

Traynor was very welcome to me.. I was a male, so no romance, but she was a cool characer. I didn't like the ME3 crew much. I missed some ME2 characters. The existing crew just made me notice their absence even more. Like the developers just played favorites and decided to make other characters like Garrus, Tali, and Liara my best friends. Traynor and Vega were kind of neutral parties.

My point was that it is very realistic to have someone not return your feelings because of incompatible orientation. But people don't want to hear that.

I don't mind someone create mod to "give" Sera to men as I won't use it.

But now I'm more interested about Josephine than Sera, or than last mysterious LI they said about.

I have no problems at all if modders can successfully  remove the orientation gates or make any other changes to the game. Some of the mods for Dragon Age and Mass Effect have greatly improved my enjoyment of the game.

Which is my point as well :P I was all for making Cass bi, but now that she has been confirmed as straight, I hope people will respect that and not make a sexuality mod.

So for you sexuality is nothing more then an option that can be unlocked?

Someone will make a mod, for sure. If there's something most modding is known for, it's tackiness.

Let them make a mod. I won't use it. (being on xbox helps...)

It might be interesting to flirt with the LIs and to be shot down. It would make for funny banter.

God I hate those. It's like people denying the characters being the people that they are.

I'm definitely looking forward to getting turned down by Sera. It was hilarious when Traynor did that in ME 3.

They are just video game characters. It's not like forcing a change of sexuality on a real person.

Like anything these are very much much a gut reaction at the moment. Nothing from interview leapt out and excited me and appearance wise not compelling to me either. Happy others are excited and i'll have to wait till meet her in game to see if gut reaction is completely accurate.
