People are getting too hung up on this straight/bi/lesbian thing. It's like her orientation has somehow made her less interesting because a group of people can't do the whole LI thing. I'm sorry ladies, really I am. But can't you enjoy the character just the same? This basically proves that interest for the character was more about 'but can my PC bed her' than Cassandra herself. I find this as absurd as killing Zevran for hitting on my PC (I actually know people who have done this).

I agree. There's still a lot to look forward to. I was miffed about Sera at first, but she's still going to be a mainstay for me. If anything, because she seems like the funny rogue-ish type of the bunch (well, her and Varric).

It helps a lot when you stop thinking of people in terms of types, and start treating them like individuals.

Of course, that means more effort and less opportunity for easy, lazy stereotyping, but it's a fair price imo.

I based what i said on observation of her behaviour actions in the games and in the movie. Observation. As in the behaviour of people who do casual sex vs. behaviour of those who don't. Nice jumping in to conclusions there though, hotshot.

"Would a romantic person even be interested in casual sex?"

Yes

Hmm, seems quite unromantic doesn't it?

This is the most activity her thread has had in a long time. If anything, her being straight seems to have made people more interested in talking about her.

What jumping to conclusions? You basically confirm what I said, and your use of "casual sex type" left little to misinterpret to begin with.

Cassandra is romantic in the sense of heroics, chivalry and adventure (also idealism)...

I can.

Though, I never had that much interest in romancing Cassandra anyway so I'm not the best to answer.

From past experience, I was still interested in the females I couldn't romance but wanted to and I still used them in my part a lot (like, Jack from ME2).

As a..... closet romantic.. I don't like casual sex. But that's just me. If you have any inclination to imagine a future with people, it's a little disheartening if you know you're not going to see them much.. or they push you away. You'd rather spare yourself the trouble.

It's funny that the character I'm most interested in isn't 'romanceable yet' and even if he was I wouldn't be going down that road. I guess I'm a weirdo on these forums.

Ah if that's so then casual sex is less of an issue, i thought her romanticism extended to relationships as well, unless David Gaider has said otherwise?

Casual sex can be very tender, intimate and romantic.

Then you part ways.

Oh boy, has the moment arrived? The long expected "Is Cass a virgin" discussion has started?

That's the definition of romantic I don't fall under. Kind of Don Quixote-ish.

I was waiting to see what the outcome of all the speculation would be, before joining in the discussion, but I knew I would be interested in Cassandra as a character no matter what.

All of the people saying that it was "obvious" that she was absolutely, one hundred percent heterosexual was really depressing when we didn't know for sure, so I tried to keep away from all of that and stay positive.  Now that I know for sure, it's a lot easier to come in here.

Just because someone wants really romantic relationships doesn't mean they don't mind casual sex before or after that, or even at the same time for poly people. Their enjoyment of casual sex doesn't diminish how romantic they are.
