I use prolonged experience and observation of said people, compare it to what i have seen of Cassandra and make a statement based on that. What exactly is lazy about that? Its basic psychology: Behaviour A is observed in association with one or more of behaviour patterns B, C, D.What jumping to conclusions? You basically confirm what I said, and your use of "casual sex type" left little to misinterpret to begin with.
Spoiler: The entire Inquisition is a team of virgins.

If I only had the Bioware forums to go on, I would assume that all heterosexual guys care about is impregnating ladies and whether they're virginal.

Have I led you to believe that too? ![]()
I think that Cassandra had a sexual relationship with Galyan after Dawn of the Seeker, and they just drifted apart over time due to their time-intensive work. I don't know if she would have had any other relationships, but if she had one relationship fail due to her dedication to her job I can't see her starting another one.
I look away for about one day and when I come back this thread has turned into a weird mix of discussions about homophobia, race and the definition of the word "romantic"...
Why do I always miss the good stuff?
The lazy part is what I said and what you admit yourself you did -- using limited observations of some individuals to form "patterns" that you use to create separate boxes for "types of people" and then file individuals into these boxes, based on whether even more limited data you have on the individual happen to match these "patterns".I use prolonged experience and observation of said people, compare it to what i have seen of Cassandra and make a statement based on that. The anti-Terminator.
Oh boy, has the moment arrived? The long expected "Is Cass a virgin" discussion has started?
I'm pretty sure we had the conversation before, like in the early 80s (pages).
That's the definition of romantic I don't fall under. Kind of Don Quixote-ish.
Technically, that's the only definition of romantic that exist. The love aspect of romantic is just a subset of the broad definition. It's mostly based on courtly love, although it mutated over the years to remove the chivalry, bard and noble parts.
Okay...I'm calmer now. >.>
Here is my (slightly) more rational opinion on the matter.
Personally, I'm a bit sick and tired of all the female/female romances out of Bioware being with rogue types and mage types. As a preface, I use the term "mage type" to include characters of high intellect/low physical ability (which is usually what mages are):
Leliana - Rogue type
Merrill - Mage type
Isabella - Rogue Type
Sera - Rogue type
Josephine - Mage type
Liara - Rogue/Mage type
Kelly Chambers - Mage type
Samantha Traynor - Mage type
Would it freaking kill them to give us a warrior type for a change?
From what's been shown so far, Sera just sounds like Isabella 2.0. And she just looks...odd. To be fair though, Bioware seems determined to make their elves look weird.
Josephine...I just don't find her at all attractive. I don't know if it was the pictures they used or what. Maybe she'll have a dynamite personality or something. I don't know.
And I don't buy this "we wanted to tell different stories" crap. They could have done the same thing by switching Cassandra and Josephine.
It all just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. ![]()

That's all I meant.. just lean toward the subset. I'm not an idealist in general. I might strive for it, but inside, I'm a grumbling cynic ![]()

And its because the data available is from a limited population(as it always is...) i said "She doesn't SEEM to be the casual sex type". See the important word there? It acknowledges the possibility that the statement can be wrong due to the ever present factor x. If every behavioural aspect of every individual would be completely unique, the science of psychology would not exist. The lazy part is what I said and what you admit yourself you did -- using limited observations of some individuals to form "patterns" that you use to create separate boxes for "types of people" and then file individuals into these boxes, based on whether even more limited data you have on the individual happen to match these "patterns".
The goal of such practice is precisely to save oneself effort of having to gain data about the individual in question in order to determine their particular character. That's why stereotyping is so popular -- because it's so easy and convenient. That's incidentally, also the "basic psychology".
I wonder if Cass will wear a dress to that ball we hear about in the game

Baby steps, baby steps. Cassandra is the very first romanceable female warrior BioWare has done in 15 years.
And before people argues, ME and Jade Empire and Star Wars do not have warriors: Silkfox is a ninja, Dawnstar is a chi healer, Ashley is a ranger, Elena Dorne is a white mage, all the force users are Consular/Inquisitor except for one who is a dual wielding "rogue", the rest are all "rogues" (even Kaliyo, she use a pistol, mkai.) ![]()
This might be a bit more satirical than expected.
I just have to say this. I find it strange how much the fans ship the Cassandra and Regalyan romance. Yes they were cute together in the anime and she kisses him on the cheek at the very end. But to blow that up into them having some love affair after the anime ended seems far fetched to me. Even from what we see of Cassanrda in the anime itself she seems to career driven to bother with a romance Regalyan or otherwise. While I would not 100% rule it out I still find it hard to imagine.
Also this is in no way meant to support the Cassandra as a virgin argument or anything. I'm just sayin
That....is awesome O_O I had a hard time imagining Cass in a ballgown but that dress is SO her.Aww, I hope so!

First word that comes to my mind is "dashing".

I agree, Especially because it was a chaste kiss on the cheek too, not a romantic one.
