There is an undertone of constant aggression, but I am unsure if that is because the trailers tend to highlight her more dramatic outbursts or because she's simply a very physical, emotive type.

I personally think it's PTSD caused by her brother's death. At least, this is what DotS lead me to believe (anger outburst, issue showing any other emotion than anger, nightmares, issues talking about what happened, etc).

On his tumblr, David says that he's written two romance plots for Dragon Age: Inquisition.

This increases the statistical likelihood that Cassandra is a romance, especially given that David has never written more than two companion.

That's an excellent point. I wonder if it will be brought up and addressed in the game.

If so, I hope the Inquisitor can't 'cure' her of it.

Didn't he write both Alistair and Morrigan?

The forum is a fickle mistress.

Best description of the forums I've heard in a long time.

I actually meant 'two' but that's because I forgot he wrote Zevran.

So I was wrong.. but only half as wrong as I appeared to be.

The wiki lists Alistair, Morrigan, Zevran, Shale, Cailan and large part of Duncan as the characters written by him in Origins. :)

I haven't seen DotS, but I am curious about her family history. Didn't know she was the Hero of Orlais! That's impressive. I'm hoping we get to go to her homeland, Navarra sounds very interesting to me.

But still, it makes it slightly more likely!

Here's an image of Leliana and Cassandra.

Shale was DLC, Cailian was Sheryl*, and Duncan wasn't a companion. :P

*Oh, that was Cullen. Then Duncan and Cailian weren't companions.

I hadn't noticed the hearts!  Thanks for sharing :)

Is there a story behind that, or are they there just to be cute?

I just wanted to be thorough. ;)  As for the Cailan part, I only reported what the wiki said, so the mistake isn't completely mine. I apologize for the incorrectness anyway.

There was something David Gaider said once on his tumblr that gave me the impression Cassandra and Leliana don't get along. But I may have just taken it the wrong way.

I like what we've seen of Cassandra. I have to say I'm liking the women we have more than the guys at this point. But I'm sure not knowing much of anything about them doesn't help.

You mean on her armor?

A lot of suits of armor actually had hearts on them.

Cure. To make healthy again. Restore to wellness.

Yeah, I only remembered half of David's companions in DA:O. Wishful thinking?

Gaider might have written three companions, though there's the chances one of them is Cole, which means he would be excludes by the romance count.
Anyway there are good chances Cassandra is a LI.

I know the definition. I meant what about Cassandra do you think needs curing that you'd rather wasn't?

If she has post-traumatic stress, I'd like that to be something talked about or referenced, but not something the Inquisitor could cure or fix.

Eh, don't get me wrong, I've been wanting to have Cassandra in the team (and, hopefully, to romance her) since the very first time I played dragon age 2. You're not alone in your wish, and I'm going to be quite sad if she ends up not being a romance option.

My mind tends to play ping-pong with BioWare companions.

A) I bet I will love this character.

B) I bet she will die horribly in the first chapter.

A) I hope I can romance her.

B) I suspect any romance will be dark and tragic.

It's nice to see another Cassandra thread up again. I think the problem is that we already know so much about her, like Varric, that there isn't much to discuss that has not been discussed already, unlike the 'new' companions like Vivienne.

She's certainly the companion I'm most interested in at the moment though. I really liked her in both Dragon Age 2 and Dawn of the Seeker, and I've been hoping she would be a future companion since I first finished the second game.

I really, really hope that she is an LI because it is something we have not yet seen in any Bioware game thus far, and appeals to me in a way that other female characters in dragon age haven't really so far. A female warrior who is hot blooded and short tempered but also focused on order and control. I much prefer this to the more meek, laid back or conniving female LI's we've seen in the previous games. Hard headed, blunt and tightly-stung are what I'm hoping to see.

My Inquisitor will have a very interesting relationship with her because I normally play a "chaotic good" kind of character, so I expect a lot of arguments over trivial differences in approaches, but ultimately both just trying to do good.
