In the Twitter thread, it is said that Casssandra is a crusty baguette (hard on the outside , soft and fluffy on the inside). Not sure where that is coming from, because I saw no link to Mary's tweet and it wasn't in the recent list of FoodInquisition.

But I like it.

I am hoping that means she'll be happy with my PC wading through rivers of lava to save small puppy dogs. It's nice to have one's stupidly good impulses appreciated.

I worry that she'll be practical. She seems quite practical.

I think Varric is the one who will commend you for going out of your way to help people even if it isn't the best for the Inquisition, like with Crestwood in the demo.

I see Cassandra as someone who would outwardly call you out on your actions and claim that trying to help people in situations where they seem beyond help is pointless, but would secretly be cheering you on inside.

This^.

Although, this is hard to put on the "affection meter" (or what ever it's going to be called this time).

It's not like The Witcher filed a trademark on medieval armor design. You might as well say you can clearly see the influence of ancient monks and their drawings of soldiers on their armor.

Was this to me or the person I was replying to? If the former, that's basically what I was saying.

Er... I do hope you remember that was the slogan of the neo-Nazis from V for Vendetta?

So they had a good slogan.

I found this interesting.

I am trying to figure out what race/ethnicity they thought Cassandra was in DA II.

Or maybe someone doesn't know what the term 'white wash' means and they just don't like that she's paler.

I was always under the impression she was Nevarran?  Did they think she was from Rivianni?

So?

Well, it's not too far removed from my using "One people, one nation, one leader" as a mage rebellion slogan somehow.

I think someone got the term whitewash very wrong or they have special powers of sight that enables them to observe even the minutest of changes skin tone. Because Cass looks that same to me here as she did in DA2 granted a little different given the changes in the game engine but more or less the same. Who knows people just need a reason to gripe over...

Cassandra Pentaghast is voiced by Miranda Raison.

I know I'm a bit behind on this, but I never knew that!  She's been awesome in all the stuff I've seen her in.  Adds extra interest.

No, seriously, what are they talking about? Maybe they got the meaning of white-washing completely upside-down and were talking about how in some art (and trailer) for DA2 she had white hair. But it still doesn't make sense!

However, I've checked the ending of DA2 again. I think I know what happened. During most of the game, Cassandra is talking in the shade, while Varric is under the only source of light visible in the room. Cassandra, then, looks darker. However, when she steps out to meet Leliana, her complexion is obviously lighter. A bit darker than Leliana, that's for sure, but more or less the same we've seen so far in the art and the scarce images that have been provided. If we had an image of Leliana in the new game, we could compare them.

Cassandra has a light tan. Some people probably have really bad monitors that made it look darker than it should? I don't know. She never look that dark skinned even in the interrogation room to me.

Hispanic?

Or Dawn of the Seeker had them thinking of her as Japanese?

Clearly, this only proves that the whitewashing began as soon as her first appearance. Someone should write to Bioware about this.

I mean, people appearing differently under different light? Who ahs ever heard of such nonsense?

So, I wonder how Cassandra will reconcile the Inquisitor being a blood mage. It might be another "we have no choice because other matters are worse" situation, but it might be interesting to go more in-depth with it. I'm 99.X% sure that she won't leave because of it, though; not only do I seriously doubt that specialization choice will have such terrible results for the story for any specialization, but if I'm right and Cassandra is a secondary protagonist (and things like the Inquisition symbol being a modified Seeker one make me increasingly convinced of it), nothing could possibly get rid of her until the end of the game, if anything.

I have no beef with Cassandra. She seems to have gotten over her anti-mage attitudes and didn't follow Lambert, so she doesn't seem like a threat. I have confidence that she'll be a reliable ally; less confidence that she'll be my LI, as I think Sera's most likely to take that spot (I also did the mage-and-devotee relationship in DAO with Leliana), but I won't write off the possibility.

Well, there is the possibility that blood mage won't be a specialization this time. The fact that health regen is out, health potions are rare and healing spell apparently gone (according to OXM, could be wrong info but design wise it needs to be as rare as the health potions), it suggest that exchanging health for mana would be a very dangerous hobby in DAI.

Saying that, Cassandra didn't even say anything about Merrill being a blood mage in DA2. I think that she's more of a "as long as it's for the good cause, I don't mind it...much".

Actually, Cassandra does mention Merrill as a blood mage twice. I... suppose it's possible that blood magic is gone, but I'd find it truly bizarre and a huge waste of opportunity (ditto for spirit healer being gone).
