That's assuming there is a DA4. There might not be. Bioware doesn't seem like a company that would drag out a franchise forever and ever just to milk money out of it.

Oh wait... Mass effect 4.

:P Just kidding. I'm almost as hyped for a new Mass Effect as for this game.

They've said in the Gameinformer video interviews that they a five game plan and so on. So as of now, the next two games have outlines on stories and characters.

Yup, pretty sure one will be about the Qunari & Tevinter war/Qunari invasion. The last possibly being at least partially to do with Flemeth's and Morrigan's plans coming to fruition, and something about Dragons!

Yeah, I have a feeling DA4 involves the Qunari invasion and Tevinter war with the Qunari. Just imagine, you completed DAI and then you pan across the land to the Amaranthine Ocean to see Qunari dreadnoughts, thousands of them, rolling in. DAMN! That be epic. Then I recon we get to go to places like Tevinter, Rivain and Antiva because they have a closer interaction with the Qunari.

I think they know better than to do any kind of cliffhanger ending by now.

That sounds like a perfect conflict for the Inquisition to resolve. Super mages (Tevinter) vs. super templars (Qunari)  :D

That's assuming the Inquisition is part of DA4.

Hopefully, Cassandra will be in there somewhere  :)

Nah, sorry. I'm not going to link to people's posts on an entirely different website without their permission even if they are public.

Suffice it to say, accusing the writers of not caring about lesbian/bisexual women is probably crossing a line or two.

I appreciate your discretion.

It's also important to remember it's the more extreme responses (valid or otherwise) tend to be the ones that go the most viral.  I've seen plenty of people that were hoping for Cass (or Cullen) be okay with the way things went.

You can count me as one of disappointed lesbians who feel that we were not taken seriously when it came to popular existing characters. I feel just as strong of an attachment to Cassandra as female Cullen fans feel for him. To make things worse was the long extended wait to see if Cassandra would be available to me. I never had any doubt that Cassandra would be available to men because they wouldn't be treated that way.

I'm sorry for my tone but it's extremely frustrating to feel not as important as others. If all four females end up being LI's I just don't see why Cassandra had to be straight

No one had to be anything in particular. Gaider just decided to write her that way.

Bioware just can't win. They'll be accused of catering to one group or the other no matter what they do, or why they do it.

And that's all I will say on that issue.

As I said before, Bioware would have received hate no matter what they did with the LI's, but it does feel like a punch to the gut when the gay community rallies so passionately around a character, where as straight men on Facebook and other pages were saying Cassandra was "ugly" and "mannish" and now she's available to them and not those of us who only play female PC's and wanted to romance her so badly. It is very upsetting, and I do honestly think Bioware dun goofed on this, but it is what it is. I'm just hoping the sting will go away by the time the game comes out, but man, this was really disappointing. Way more disappointing than any other straight LI's in past Bioware games, for me anyway.

Did the exact same thing not happen with Sera? Somebody is always going to get hurt when these decisions are made. You are right, Bioware simply can't please everyone, and if you're going to get complaints anyway, why not just go with what you want to do creatively?

For what it's worth, my heart goes out to you and to everyone else who wanted to romance Cassandra as a woman.

I think alot of men were happy with the way Cass looked, i know i was. You just tend to hear the mean people about it more. Im sorry alot of people are ether hurt or disappointed about it i was disappointed about Sera myself so i know how some of you feel. Some of you i know feel it alot more then i do because of your different life styles for that all i can say is im also sorry and you guys have my love (friend love) and sympathy. Please dont give up on the game or the company that is bioware i feel like the strive more then many other gaming companies to represent as many people as there are out there. Its not perfect but it gets a little better each time <3 I hope my post doesnt offend any one.

I'm sure a lot of males felt disappointed in losing Sera an option, too.

I would think though, in this game, they took homosexuality even more seriously with 2 completely gay characters. I understand it's not the option you were hoping for, but I don't see how Cass being bi and some other lady being straight would mean you're taken more seriously honestly.

Well this straight guy thinks Cass is very attractive and will romance her on a male inquisitor.

Men found out about Sera the day the news broke they didn't have to wait 3 or 4 months after they were announced as LI. We are also talking about characters that were extremely popular from previous games. I have said many times that I hoped Cassandra and Sera would be bi so nobody would be disappointed.

I dunno if it's exactly the same. There's certainly a lot less sexist and homophobic slurs being thrown around this time, and I think that's worth noting.

Again, I just wish they they had announced she was straight when they announced her as a LI, would have probably saved a lot of pain. When Sera was revealed as a lesbian she had just barely been revealed as a companion and a LI, so it's not like the same expectations where there, the reveal was immediate.

All I want is for Bioware to offer players like me an attractive androgynous/butch woman to romance as a woman, and I really wanted that to be Cassandra. Also as people have said there's the fact that she plays a much more major role to the game, and the DA series in general. I'm really not sure why Bioware has this trend of their "leading ladies" always being straight, I'd really like to know if it's intentional or just coincidental, because it's happened in literally all of their games up to this point.

Totally agree it would have been better to announce her sexuality when she was announced as a love interest.

I understand you disappointment and the same thing happened to me with Sera, I was sad for a couple of days and then quickly got over it. You'll do the same but I don't think as quickly since you really felt for Cassandra. I and I know many many others find Cassandra attractive so I see the ones saying she's ugly only the minority(maybe not, but definitely not the hardcore fans). I am sorry you don't get to romance Cassandra as a female Inquisitor.

Yeah, agree that they should have announced her (and Cullen's) orientations right from the start. Needlessly allowing people to get their hopes up only made the decision hit harder later on. Bioware definitely could of handled it better.
